New Sub Ride ??

I'm sure they'll remedy this.
Actually, no.

The stairways are being changed a bit, but it's said to only so Disney can add a couple more seats to each submarine. For guests unable to enter the subs, it's rumored that Disney is setting up an area where guests can watch a video of the attraction.

It's also being reported that Disney has removed the "speedbelt" moving ramps up to the monorail station to cut maintenance costs, replacing them with a concrete ramp and stairs.

But I thought technology was Disney's future.

it has to be ca. because the lagoon in WDW was taken out for Winnie the pooh playground :) YAY!!! (seriously it is awesome) but i still wish i could have ridden the 200 leagues

Yes and this is it...

Disney plans on using it to figure out just how much Plush they can push and how much a customer will pay for a coke before they drink that nasty tap water in the parks.

Seriously, hilarious.

Do you go to Sea World, cause I do and they do enhance their exhibits. They also put a huge amount of money into research and preservation (mainly because they were so offensivly bad in the past)
5 times last year and passholder every year and not much has changed in the last 5 years in the exhibits. Sharks, Dolphins, Penguins, Polar Bears, Baluga's, Shamu are all in the same facilities.

They are good facilities to start with but little has changed except for Atlantis opening a few years back(I enjoy this more than I should and my daughter really loves it - I've heard Florida's is more richly themed).

The Seas will never compete with Sea World for someone looking for this type of entertainment. Its but a small portion of a huge amount of offerings at Epcot. You can spend three straight days at Epcot, one day at a time does if for us at Sea World.

It would be interesting to see how much money Sea World has put into research and preservation as compared to AK.

The Nemofication of the Seas has been a huge success with Turtle Talk(now moving to a larger theater) and the new Nemo ride, increasing foot traffic dramatically in the Seas. Could this have been obtained without Nemo, who knows. All we know is that Nemo has worked so far.

If you doubt that Disney ever was capable of increasing foot traffic in a pavilion they had neglected for years without resorting to "Nemofication", then I have to question what it was that made you a Disney fan in the first place.

If its a case where you doubt that they are capapble NOW of accomplishing this without Nemofication, then I'd have to ask what it is that makes you a fan of Disney now.

Of course they could have done it. That said, you aren't exactly setting much of a bar here. They do virtually nothing with a pavilion for years, except for shutting down the ride it did have, and you consider anything they do that increases foot traffic to be a success? Is that really saying much?

Rereading that last paragraph I wrote sure doesn't say what I was thinking. :confused3

I was thinking could they have obtained a bigger increase without Nemo. Was Nemo the right choice or would another direction have been better.

To quote one of my favorite Aqua Teen villains, "AV/YoHo/Raidermatt just being around you guys kinda makes me want to die.”

And to quote one of my favorite Ghostbusters...

"Listen! Do you smell something?"

Ah, well, that's the question. I say that, if done properly, ABSOLUTELY, and they would have been able to better maintain the spirit and feeling of Epcot.

As you pointed out earlier, that's just speculation as all we can evaluate with certainty is what's in front of us. I just think that there's enough evidence from the past to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that when Disney makes that kind of effort, with the right purpose and intentions, they are more than capable.

ITA...this post is exactly like that! BTW, Happy Time Harry is hilarious.

I'm going back to some of the other boards where people hang out who actually like to go to WDW.

I wanna go to WDW.

Also, Mastershake, why do you hate Boston so much?

I'm all for critical thought, but it seems contradictory that people on a web forum devoted to WDW have little to say in favor of it. :confused3 If I found that much at fault with WDW (or any vacation destination) I would spend my time elsewhere. Why not spend time at a place that brings pleasure rather than irritation, anger and stress?

We go for the memories about what the place used to be. I assure you that When AV and I are at Disneyland, we are having plenty of fun.

I don't understnad why it's so hard to understand how one could both enjoy what's still there, the memories, the old attractions and still criticize the current company.

I own a Ford truck. I think Ford is currently doing a terrible job. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy driving my truck.

Because some of us want Disney to stay around so that our children can enjoy it as much as we did. If - and it's a big "if" - Disney starts to listen to their guests again there's hope they can turn around.

Others I guess just want to cut and run.

I love the history and people of Boston, but they overreacted with that Aqua Teen advertising campaign. The advertisers should have gotten permission, but they used Light Bright’s. If I run my daughters Light Bright on my front lawn the local police don't lock the city down.

Turner's getting off paying only 2million. That's some cheap advertising for a movie reportedly made while on a Meth Binge.

Disney is fool of Evil Do-ers.
