NEW Studios Parade Route

I apoligize if someone has already mentioned this. Effective immediately, the Studios has a new parade route. The following excerpt is from this week's All Ears newsletter:

As of February 1, the Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade now starts at the gate near Sid Cahuenga's One of a Kind shop near the front of the park. It then progresses down Hollywood Boulevard and turns left in front of the Sorcerer's Hat, following the regular parade route. It passes in front of Star Tours and continues down the hill past Tatooine Traders. It then turns left and exits the park at the gate near MuppetVision 3D.

Thanlk you WeatherbySwann, that is great to know, but do you know when that one will stop and the new one will begin. We are going in June and I would love to catch it and not have to wait until December.

so between the 9th and 14th will there be NO PARADE? wow, Im glad I didnt plan that week, I love a parade! any parade!
Heck we watched the GIANTS parade today!!

What!!! What a bummer! Does anyone know anything about the new parade? One thing we liked about the Stars and Motor Cars Parade was that it had so many characters from Disney movies in it. My boys loved the Toy Story Characters.

Then they'll really love Block Party Bash. It's all Pixar, with characters from Toy Story, The Incredibles, a bug's life, and Monsters, Inc. It recently ended its two year run at DCA, where it was a great success. There are several videos of it over on YouTube.

Well, I think it is coming from Disneyland in California, it is the Block Party Bash and includes characters from the Disney/Pixar Films. There is a short intro on the new planning DVD that talks about it. Looks like it includes Toy Story 1 & 2, The Incredibles, Bug's Life, Monster's Inc, Finding Nemo, etc, cause I know I am missing some.

I will definitely miss Stars and Motor Cars, but I do like change, change is good.

I will try to make it my business to go to DHS in June, but if they are doing the Stars Wars Weekends is the parade different? We haven't been to the Studios then.

Thank you for this information. The new parade looks great, though I'm glad we saw the Cars parade in 2004. We have a lunch reservation at 12:50 at Hollywood & Vine. Where and what time would be the best spot for viewing the parade?

Block Party Bash will have two major performance locations--Star Tours and Mickey's Sorcerer's Hat. These are the places where the floats will stop and the dance parties will take place. Hollywood & Vine is a bit closer to the Hat than it is to Star Tours.

You can't miss the hat. It's the huge icon in the middle of the park, like Epcot's Ball, Cinderella's castle at MK and the Tree of Life at AK.

are those the stops for high school musical? i remember it stops at the hat but don't remember the other stop. I have seen BPB as dca and it's alot of fun especially for the kids. they really get them involved. I just wonder how all the action and excitement are going to translate to florida summers. This show is extremely active for non character people and the costumed characters will have to be out in the sun and humidity in those heavy costumes. but I can say if it's anything like the dca production, it will be a treat and much better than stars and motor cars.

Well... There may be a hidden Mickey or two in the parade. Other than that, it's all Pixar.
