New stroller rules question

Now that the new stroller rules have been in place for a week, does anyone know how they are measuring them?

I am not trying to break rules, but I have 2 kids, and a double stroller that is 31.5" (0.5" larger than the rules). So I am asking how they measure, and do they round down? Is there something I have to walk through? And is it exactly 31.0"? Or is there a box to stand in, or do they not even check at all, if it looks reasonable (I think my stroller looks reasonable and was surprised it doesn't fit the rules... it is a double side-by-side, made by babyTrend, it is not a wagon or anything like that. The 31.5" measurement is at the very widest point from back wheel to back wheel.

Here is a picture if that helps.

You would be rolling the dice. I would be surprised that they would not let you in with this, but they could not let you in. But the truth is, we have no idea how they are handling edge cases like this. The rules are exactly 31", front or back. There is a sticker/mat on the ground that you put your stroller in to check the dimensions. Yours would be outside by 1/4" on each side. I don't know how they handle this.

Yeah, worst case they will hold the stroller for you and I believe they will actually give you a free rental on the first day they deny you. But then you'd have to rent one every day after that and leave stroller back at room.

I have the same stroller and am wondering the same thing! It is so close! I have a neck issue that makes pushing the strollers hard and other ones I have tried just don’t work. Ariel620 when are you going? Maybe whoever goes first can report back lol.

I arrive June 16, and I will report back. Really hoping to know before then. I guess my other option is 2 singles, so I would like to know before I pack up, cause I’d prefer the double since I only have one single I like (my other is a umbrella and hard to use)

I’m there the first week of June. If that’s enough time I will be happy to report back (send me a msg if I forget). I am wondering if those little plastic pieces covering the bolts on the wheels contribute to it going over the 31... if so the stroller would still fit in that “taped box”. Would I be crazy if I go out and make a box in my driveway lol?!?!

The little pieces of plastic covering the wheel bolts are not 1/2" thick. A 1/2" is equal to half of the first upper joint of your thumb.

Not crazy - I’m tempted to do it just as a final verification that my jogger isn’t too long (I’ve measured it like 5 times and it’s not but now I’m paranoid)... Use blue painters tape so it’s easy to remove- plus the visual may help you gauge better how it looks...

What I want to measure is that box in the wdwnt article above... Like can the wheels go over the white and into the blue, is the white really the 31" or the blue? I'm selfishly hoping that the white is the 31" and they still allow you in as long as you are in the blue. Kind of like a buffer between their 31" and the ADA 32" doorways.

Painters tape- good tip thanks!

Maybe someone can pack in a tape measure and let us know :) I’ll be there in May over Memorial Day weekend- if people really want an answer to that I can try to remember to bring one with me

So I was at Disneyland last week. They had the boxes on the ground in several places. I didn’t see even one person measure their strollers in them. We went for four days. I have that same double stroller. Opted to not bring it. But wished I had because I saw several of them in the parks. I did hear a security guard saying they were “being lenient for the first week or so”. I was pretty bugged because I really would have benefited from having my double stroller. All three of my kids can ride in it at once. But I didn’t want to take chances since we arrived on May 1st. Hope that helps!

If it's over the measurement then its over. Just because someone got a free pass doesn't change the rule. You are putting CMs and security in an awkward place where they have to embarrass you in front of your kids.

Also the week when you get there could be the week they start being extra strict ect.

As an update I used my stroller all week with no issues. (Mine is the one that is 31.5 in wide... it looks very similar to all the other double joggers but has some slight differences that put it over that half inch). I also saw several of the same model throughout the parks. I never saw any measuring boxes or anything like that so maybe someone else can report more on that.

Can anyone comment on how the stroller measuring is going? Is everyone getting measured? No one? I measured mine at exactly 31” but I don’t particularly want to be harassed in the event they think it looks 31.5”. Thanks!
