With the exception of having vaguely heard of Martina Hingis, I don't know any of them.
And they should have scrapped Bruce by now (I actually sometimes have to turn the sound off when he's on, he annoys me that much) and replaced him with Anton.
And Alesha as a judge?!?

Might give it a miss this year

The 16 celebrities who will compete in the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing have been officially announced.

The seventh series of the BBC show will see judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood return to the panel alongside newcomer Alesha Dixon, who has replaced Arlene Phillips.

The female contestants and their dancing partners are:

Ali Bastian and Brian Fortuna
Lynda Bellingham and Darren Bennett
Natalie Cassidy and Vincent Simone
Martina Hingis and Matthew Cutler
Jade Johnson and Ian Waite
Zoe Lucker and James Jordan
Laila Rouass and Anton du Beke
Jo Wood and Brendan Cole

The male contestants and their dancing partners are:

Joe Calzaghe and Kristina Rihanoff
Richard Dunwoody and Lilia Kopylova
Ricky Groves and Erin Boag
Chris Hollins and Ola Jordan
Craig Kelly and Flavia Cacace
Phil Tufnell and Katya Virshilas
Ricky Whittle and Natalie Lowe
Rav Wilding and Aliona Vilani

Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly will return to front the competition, while Claudia Winkleman will host spinoff show It Takes Two.

Oh dear, I looked at the line up and thought Phil Tufnell is the one who's going to grate on me with his "happy days" catchprase every few seconds!

No disrespect to Natalie Cassidy but after having Rachel Stevens last year I can't see Vincent being too happy with this year's partner. He does like to get a bit steamy!

I know who most of them are & think it's a fairly good line up. They are never going to be top celebs as they need to drop everything else for about 4 months.

I am happy Arlene has gone, she drove me crazy with her lusting after certain celebs, she didn't hide who her favourites were. Not sure that Alesha is the right replacemnet but I like her so i'm looking forward to seeing how she gets on.

Can't believe everybody was up in arms about Alesha starting, okay, she isn't a pro judge, but there are three others on the panel. I like that she will come at it from the contestants POV

I'll find out start date for you, my friend Jayne is en route via France back from her summer in Spain, so I'll ask her when I hear from her in the next few days. I know the rehersals started a couple of weeks ago, as Darren and Lilia were in Spain until first week of Aug then returned home to start them.....

I'm with Mandy, Tuffers to win! Although I would love to see either Darren or Lilia win as the pros as it's great for my friends career

Whilst I wasn't a massive fan of Arlene, I am absolutely appalled that Alesha has replaced her - for goodness sake, she was a contestant on it only a couple of years ago. What on earth does she know that is going to make her a good judge - say what you like about Arlene but at least she knew her stuff

I see, from the line up, that they didn't manage to persuade Fern Britton to do it and, for that alone, I am eternally grateful. I must be the only person alive who can't stand the woman.

As far as the others go, most of them I've heard of although I may have to google a couple of them.

I hope Lynda Bellingham does well - she's great

I'd like to watch it, but DH doesn't like it so I may have to record it and watch at a later time.

I don't think having Aleasha as a judge is any different to having Cheryl Cole as one on the X Factor, I don't think either of them are particularly worthy of the position but I suppose that doesn't matter when they will be bringing in the ratings.
