new steven king book

I'd like to know, too. I gave this book as a birthday gift to someone but they haven't started it yet.

not yet, but the first two chapters were in last week's entertainment weekly - VERY freaky! I look forward to reading the whole thing.

My DH is reading it now - about 1/2 way. He says it is great. I am looking forward to his finishing - so I can start.

I didn't know he had a new one out. What's it called? Is it a horror novel or one of his other ventures?

Stephen King's new book is called "Cell" and I just started it yesterday. I've only had time to get up to page 30, but it is good. Let me just say that it doesn't wait to get into the action! :)

ain't that the truth!

I gave this book to my hubby at his bday party on Monday night.....he stayed up all night reading it and didn't put it down until he finished.

I'm thinking he liked it lol. :thumbsup2

I too read the first two chapters of Cell in Entertainment Weekly and it was very good. It was very interesting and I'm looking forward to reading the entire book, but for some reason as I read it I really felt like I was reading an updated version of The Stand. Hopefully as I read more I will realize that this is a completely different story than The Stand and the only similarities between the two is at the begining.

Wow I think I will pick up a copy for my husband. He loves Steven King. Thanks Dis!! :thumbsup2

It's good, very odd though, especially for SK. It reminded me more of Dean Koontz than typical SK fare---more to the point & less on the backstories that he normally does. It jumps right into the action & doesn't really slow down much overall.

Having said all that, I can't say it was one of his best. It's only about 350 pages, give or take, and it felt like it. I missed the little details. And without giving away the ending, I didn't like it much. I'm not a fan of cliffhangers or anything that feels like one--I like resolutions to stories. :)

If you can get it fairly inexpensively, I'd say go for it. Don't pay full price for it though, IMHO.

And its in my carry on for my flight to WDW on Friday! :thumbsup2
