Life long dream for him I think, having been a Star Wars fan as a kid.

Holy cow, that looks good. I think I'm more excited about this one than Force Awakens. And Mads Mikkelsen is in it too!! (although he wasn't in the trailer). I LOVE him!!!

I love the comments on youtube. Everyone is pissed that it's another female lead.

Please cry me a river! All these men who desperately need yet another male to helm a sci fi action flick (because there's a real shortage of those!)

I haven't seen anyone pissed that it is another female lead ... though some thoughts that it does feel like a very similar character to TFA and two in a row just stands out and why not something different

All you have to do is scroll thru the youtube comments.
But nobody ever says that when its 2 male leads in a row.

I'm indifferent. The lead might be a woman, but it's not like there's a shortage of men in the film either.

Though, I do have to agree that the actress looks too similar to Daisy Ridley.

Obviously I haven't been reading same places as you. Obviously says something that people even notice 2 women in a row rather than men - but still is what it is so stands out.

I'm becoming like Kevin in that I care less and less every time more is discussed.

I would assume that sci fi fans would want more women in these films. I picture these fans the folks from The Big Bang Theory. Yes, it's a stereotype, but stereotypes are real time savers.

Speaking as both a female and a star wars fan. I am thrilled to see more and more female leads. To me Princess Leia was a big deal as a kid, a princess who actually takes the opportunity and is a active part of the rebellion not as a damsel in distress but a fighter.

Now we have Rey, Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren and now this new one. I couldn't be happier.

Not everyone is like those characters in the Big bang theory. No matter what you're into whether it's sports, or Sci-fi or whatever you are into you will find some people, who only want that fandom in a certain way and only in that way. It's not the geeks it's people

I was willing to suspend belief that C3PO and R2D2 were around since Anakin days for fan service, but at this point, nah.


Also, at what point do you guys reckon they will remove the AT AT walker and ewok village outside of star tours (doesn't necessarily fit in with the whole land aesthetic)? Would it be one of the last things that goes? Obviously, no one knows now, but it'll be sad when that finally is gone.
I hope they at least re-purpose the AT AT elsewhere (my backyard would be awesome...)

I saw a quote from Daisy Ridley yesterday she pretty much shot that down: "“I’m not being funny you guys, but just because she’s white and got brown hair… it doesn’t mean she’s my mom.” ... she also talked about how her (Rey) and Finn are just people and don't come from anywhere specific and why does everything need to be connected, etc. Now, this doesn't necessarily mean anything but at least that is where she is coming from

Some of the action shots for this gave me chills. It really feels like they are trying to put us into the star wars universe not just show us a story. Can't wait!

But Star Tours isn't going anywhere. The retheming would be the "planet" they are creating for the star wars land.
