We are sailing the Dream Dec. 11-15. What are the odds they would premiere the new Star Wars movie on the 14th? We have tickets to see it when we are back home, but would be cool to see it on the ship!

You'll be on my cruise :) I think they'll have a midnight showing on our last night. I'm hoping since it's such a big deal they do one earlier, or it's going to make for a very sleepy morning getting off the ship

That's typically how they do it, though. Midnight show (so it's on the 15th) and a lot of bleary-eyed people getting off the ship in the morning.

Now, on occasion, they've done an early premiere (like 9/10 o'clock) the night before, but still late at night.

Typically when a Disney Movie comes out, the ships will premier it at the same time as if it were shoreside. So say if they are doing a weds midnight Marvel movie premier, say Ant Man 2, then the ships.will do a weds midnight AM2 premier. It's no different then on shore. They may or may not have the movies leading up to the new movie like they do shoresode but they'll match the times and dates.

If they do, get there EARLY. Our experience trying to go to popular movies (not new releases, just popular) has been the theater fills quickly and early. We tried to a couple of times to see Beauty and the Beast this past March and it didn't happen.

If they do it and they're smart, they'll do it in the Walt Disney theater, but even that could be full for this one.

The PremEARs at Sea are usually done in the WDT. Sometimes they also use the Buena Vista Theater. And, on occasion, have multiple showings.

There have been occasions when the PremEAR was earlier in the evening. Those times the ship was at sea (so, basically, a captive audience who couldn't tell any others about the movie until they reached a port on the actual premiere date).

Since the Dream will be at sea the day it could PremEAR do you think they'll do an earlier showing? Even a 10pm would be better, I feel like I'll end up falling asleep in the movie. Do you think they'll have storm troopers there or no because this isn't a star wars cruise

Possibly about a half hour after the second show. That's what they did for Beauty and the Beast for us. So, about 11pm. But then, if someone has the wifi package, they can report spoilers back to friends/bosses, so maybe not.

Awesome, I'm looking forward to seeing it on the Thursday night (our last night/sea day)!

Star Wars, Marvel, and major Disney movies premiere at 7pm on the east coast the Thursday night of their opening weekend. For major PremEARs like The Force Awakens, DCL has provided tickets with assigned showtime in the past. (See navigators from Dec 17, 2015)
