Welcome home- especially to a SSR neighbor and a Seattle neighbor.

I often don't see a lot of fellow "west-coasters" on these boards. I was born in Tacoma but moved to CA when I was 7 (I was a military brat)! Glad to hear of some other west coast DVCrs. I was becoming paranoid that maybe west coast folks didn't join DVC!!!

Bigsmooth and BeccaG, it's nice to "meet" some other West Coast DVC members! I was wondering the same thing BeccaG, about whether there were very many DVC club members on the West Coast! Glad to know there are some others (and one from Seattle, too!) :cheer2:

Disneymom, i see from your profile you are a teacher!! I teach as well, however at a local high school. Are you planning on using your DVC on your breaks from school? Are you in a traditional system or year round?

Welcome Home! We've stayed at SSR (home resort) twice and have not been disappointed at all! Congratulations and many, many years of fun family get togethers:)

Thanks again for the kind wishes and welcomes everyone! BeccaG, I teach in a traditional September-June school district and one of the questions I asked our guide Gib was if it was easy to get vacation days reserved during the normal school year vacation times (i.e. spring break, summer...) and he assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. That was one of the selling points for us. By the way, we're only about a 1/2 hour from Tacoma. I noticed that you worked as a cast member at DL - how fun! We've been there many times and are looking forward to some good memories at DW, too!

It was my college job, something I always wanted to do. My friend (who is also working on becoming a teacher) and I are planning on going back to work the summers once we have kids who are old enough to fend for themselves. :)

Hi DisneyMom and everyone!

My dh & I were at WDW this past may (my 4th trip, dh's 1st trip) celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary (we stayed at Ft. Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds). We had such a blast that we became members of the DVC! Our home resort is SSR too.

We're planning our next vacation (to SSR of course) for May 2007.

Welcome home fellow neighbor. I just bought at SSR myself in June and am going home for the first time on 9/24!

Congrats on your new purchase! :yay:

Yeah!!! :cheer2: It is so cool to "meet" a whole bunch of fellow new DVCrs and Disers!

So which airline do you fellow west-coasters use to get to Disney World?

Couple years ago Alaska started nonstop service to Orlando out of Seattle. I believe they are still the only direct airline out of Seattle. That is a good option for us, we have the Alaska Airlines credit card, which gives you a $50 companion fare coupon each year, which is a good way to drive down the cost of tickets for the family. Plus I travel quite a bit with work, which makes it easy to use frequent flier miles when needed. For our upcoming trip this Oct, I used miles to upgrade the family to first class. I hope they don't feel too spoiled. :-)

Welcome to the SSR group, too, Mischa and Allflgirl!! BeccaG, when my husband and I went to DW last month we also flew non-stop on Alaska Airlines from Seattle to Orlando. When my sister and I went 3 years ago we flew American (using Alaska Airlines points). American had a layover in St. Louis.
