I'm no insider or anything, but my feeling is that Eagle Pines is on indefinite back-burner. If they were in a hurry to build it, why would they have (roughly) tripled the size of the SSR project? If the CR project actually happens, that will push Eagle Pines back even further. It's very possible that when the time comes to build it, other plans will have come to the forefront.

they were thinking at first that SSR might be hard to sell - well the opposite is true.

so they are tearing down all the old condo.villas in the area and replacing them with SSR.

I still haven't heard if this will include the Tree houses or not - I would hate to have them torn down - but since the hurricane they are so badly damaged that WDW might as well put something else there. if they can - protected lands.

I don't think on the latest plans for SSR - that the Tree houses were included, yet.

I don't believe that's true. The original design was for 12 buildings, and an additional 6 were subsequently announced (although the plans on file only show 5 more buildings.) So, depending upon which you believe, we're talking 40-50% growth over the initial design.

No doubt you're right. I hadn't heard the original plans called for that many buildings.
