As of this morning (7/20/05), NASA has decided to start the 3-day countdown on Saturday, putting the next shuttle launch on Tuesday (7/26) around 10:30am.
The shuttle should be visible from most of central Florida. What I usually do is watch a local news channel until I see for sure that it is lifting off, then just go outside and look due east. On a clear day you should see the flame and smoke plume. On a real clear, early morning, you can sometimes here it rumble.

Seeing the shuttle take off is a really inspiring sight, but this launch is now in doubt, as there is some problem with the fuel gage.

No this is the new updated launch time. It follows the resolving of the fuel sensor issue.

As of this morning (7/25) the lift-off is still a go tomorrow morning.
Only remaining factor right now is the weather.

Look east!

I used to live on the west coast of FL- tampa/brandon area. We could see the night launches and hear the sonic booms on reentry. My mom saw the challenger explosion from the tampa airport.

For those of us NOT in FL (sniff! :sad1: ) you can watch the launch here: http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html
I had this running at work on the last attempt. I'm home on vacation today.

Only a little over 2 hours until launch :goodvibes
