Has anyone done this? From what I read it sounds suspiciously... ah...kinky? for lack of a better term! "private room," shower, steam bath, mud, sea salt, aromatherapy oils.... someone also said you (and partner) get the room for 45 minutes alone, locked door (from the inside), lights down low, and eveyone comes out with a smile... Whoa! DH wants to know if this is for real too!

All for $68? Is this all it sounds it's cracked up to be?

Thanks!

DH and I did this on our 4 day Wonder cruise last Dec and it can be what you what it to be ;)

Very private, there are muds, bath gels, etc to slather up with, etc. It was very relaxing and cozy ;) ;) ;)

btw -- we thought the steam was entirely tooooo hot and weren't in there much at all. there is a detailed description of the surial bath and pics too (I think) at Barb's castaway club site

I was actually kind of curious to hear about how comfortable and private this truly is. We took the spa tour and they showed us the room. I didn't think it looked very big and everything is tiled, the floor, the walls, the bench.... I'm guessing you should probably request lots of extra towels. Plus, I was in a nearby treatment room and I could hear hallway noise quite clearly. I guess I'm just not that adventurous.

We thought it was a good deal! Very relaxing........ Steam room is definitely VERY HOT!

Nevermind. I guess I don't know how to do links. If you look on castawayclub site, you can find it under the spa link.

When we cruised the September Western I believe it was $83. Do take extra towels and some ice cold bottled water. As another posted already said, the steam room is VERY hot!

DH and I did this on the Magic. They give you like 3 different types of mud and body salt to slather on each other. The steam room is really HOT. They had a cold hose/fountain thing in there if I remember correctly. I had that thing on me constantly! There is also an extensive line of spa products for you to use after you wash everything off. It was fun to do once. I'm not going to be standing in line for it again though. Call me kooky but all the "wink winks" had my wondering how well they sterilize stuff in there. I know, I'm paranoid.......

P.S. My skin was wonderful afterward!

Gotta agree with what's been said previously. The steam room is HOT. And everything is tiled, even the little bench for sitting. There also isn't a single wall hook in the room (or at least there wasn't when we were there in 2002). It was fun to do once, but I doubt if we'll do it again.

Sure you do. The site you referenced has been deemed an "off limits" link, therefore the asterisks. Kinda funny since Barb (incognito) is one of the board moderators.

We did it in 2002 and thought it was nice, but way to extreme temp wise. What we remember most is how freezing we felt when we used some peppermint type tea tree ouil stuff. Chilled to the bones, then the killer steam- ugh! It was funny how you were pretty much told to "enjoy yourselves" I was still totally paranoid that someone would pop in any minute. It seems it was around $100 with tip -I don't know why we tipped now that I think about it, but I'm sure we did.

My husband and I did it on our cruise in Sept 2004 and we enjoyed it... it is well worth  the money. I found it relaxing and a great way for my husband and I to have 100% quality alone time together.
