? "NEW SIGN-IN TO YOUR ACCOUNT" even though it is not new.

I have this issue every time I log in and it's been annoying me for years. At this point, I just delete the emails and move on. I know Disney isn't going to bother fixing the issue at this point.
What is it they are supposed to fix? I think it's working the way they want it to work.

I have the same thing happen every time. I’ve called support and done the chat and the only I answer I ever get it that it’s “supposed to work that way.”

I suspect it may be due to use of a VPN (or other privacy measures), which may trick the Disney-side servers into thinking it’s getting a connection from a new location. But that’s just my untested theory.
Nah, can't be that.
I don't use a VPN ever and I get the email every single time I sign in. From home, work, every where. My home IP never changes

The Disney web site suffers from some serious deep technical design flaws, including way too many cookies that can stomp on each other. If you want to fix it, there's a few things you can try (no guarantee any of them will actually work)
- make sure you're not in private browsing/anonymous mode in your browser
- make sure you're not using a VPN
- make sure you're logging in from the same network every time (i.e. not from one starbucks one day, and at home the next)
- clear all of your browser cache including cookies. Note: This will also wipe out any stored logins, etc from other pages as well. If you try to delete just the Disney cookies you likely won't find them all, as they're from a myriad of domains.
I've had quite good success deleting just Disney cookies from Chrome. At least the ones that cause troubles.
But unfortunately none of those items do anything to stop the emails.
I really think the email is something they intend to be sent. So not really something to avoid

Ok. What’s your theory if you’re so sure it’s not that?

That it is how they intend it to work. That they intend it to send an email notification every time you sign in.
So then it’s actually broken for the people that this doesn’t happen to? I wonder what those people are doing so that they don’t get the email notification every time.

Maybe they've got their notifications set to none?
Maybe they get them and they go right to spam?
I thought everyone got them quite honestly
Everyone I know does

There was some discussion about it on the DVC forum when it first started happening with DVC member website logins, but once we established that it was simply a new routine, everything settled down.

And there are DVC members who don’t get any emails from DVC or Disney at all, even the ones they want, no matter how many times they update their Communications Preferences.

Never got the emails until after getting Disney plus. Coincidence? Don’t know or care lol. I ignore it all.
I never paid attention. It’s a good question. It could have started then. Though as you said it last doesn’t matter in the end. I ignore it.

OP here-

This can't be a normal operation. Imagine your inbox if every time you logged into a website, that business would send you a similar email? You'd be deleting all day (not that we aren't already). It is Disney in particular that spams me with these notices and moreso now that I am planning a trip.and booking events

What bothers me the most is having to sign in with my info and credit card every time I book dining. Before these notices, WDW would recognize me and populate that info. It is the same on the MDE app on my iPhone. Will this happen every time I use or order a pay item with Genie+/ILL? I have not been to WDW since Genie began.
Frustrating.

Sure it can be normal. For a given business. All business don't run their websites the same. Surely you've encountered some that even go so far as to send you a text or email code you have to enter before you can sign in. Everyone operates their websites differently. They decide what level of security they want to implement. Disney has decided they want to send an alert each time you sign in as part of their normal operation.

That has nothing to do with your credit card info by the way. Two completely different things. Have you gone in on your web based MDE account and made sure your account info is all updated? I find that is the better way to get it to save. The app never seems to work. Other than that, no clue what's going on. Other than it not saving your credit card info is unrelated to the alert every time you sign on.

Thank you for the credit card info. Everything is correct and up to date.

I am well familiar re: how businesses run their security operations differently. My issue is that Disney seems to send these emails much more frequently than other businesses and I am at a loss as to why in the same open Disney page, if I even check a link, I get the message.

I do appreciate everyone's thoughts and opinions. I think I will block these security messages and send them to spam. I can check that folder once a day and group delete.

Something that annoys me more than the email every time I log in, that it logs me out after a set period of time even while I'm actively on the site
I assume it's got a time limit of some sort on that particular cookie and it autodeletes after whatever that time period is. Once it's gone, log in prompt again. I've never bothered to time it but it seems very short. Too short when you are doing something like planning a trip and you have to stop and consult another person on their thoughts regarding something. Because more than likely you'll get a log in prompt again. I could live with the emails if they'd just keep the log in info active for at least a day or at a minimum till you close your browser.

Every single time I log in on any device on any Disney-related site. Checking my plans? Email notifying me of a new sign-in. Compiling gift cards? Email notifying me of a new sign-in. Pull up Disney+? Email notifying me of a new sign-in. Even times I didn't technically "sign in" because I was already in the site. No VPN, and I work from home so I'm on the same Wifi network 98% of the time. I just assumed it was their brilliant tech work -_- I'm genuinely surprised to learn it doesn't happen to everyone the same way.

I have several services that send me either an email or text every time I login. Do you have any services that send a one-time code during/after login? It's the same principle and is becoming more prevalent in the tech space for security purposes.
