The only posts about the show on this board from cruisers who have seen this show have been negative. It would be nice to read about someone else's impression who liked it but the two bumblesquats have been relayed to us on the boards as annoying & irritating.
OK, so here was my impression:
The Bumblesquats show has two main elements:
- A series of acrobatic acts, similar to, but not quite as good as, a Cirque du Soleil show.
- The Bumblesquat "family" looking through the audience and "finding" members of the Bumblesquat family that are here for the "Bumblesquat Family Reunion"
I think most of the negitive reactions are to the couple going through the audience, which I admit boarders on the annoying, but I didn't find it as bad as I expected based on the reports here. However, that part of the show mostly takes place during the time it takes to get the stage set up for the next acrobatic part of the show.
At the end, the Bumblesquat couple brought a couple people on stage and danced with them. The entertainment value of this last part is likely determined by the attitude of the two people that come on stage with them, and for our show (first show, repo cruise), they were both extremely good sports and it was an absolute riot.
Overall, I enjoyed the show and our 2 YO son really liked it. Clearly this isn't something that will be on most cruises, but if it happens to be on your cruise I would give it a try, especially if you are a fan of Cirque-like shows.
