New Show Format

Personally, I'm fine with either the old or new format. I do wonder, however, if we'll get more total minutes of podcast each week with the new format. If that's the case, then I'm in favor of the new format!

I found myself a bit dissatisfied, but it may have just been because I'm a slave to habit. I'm definitely not going to quit listening, but I hope that the segments get tweaked a bit to not make it feel like the podcast just ended in the middle.

I really enjoy listening to the DIS Unplugged and although I was surprised when I saw that the first show was only 36 minutes I love the idea of having more shows to listen to. I think the new format will definitely be better for archiving and searching. I'm also happy that it may mean longer segments. I just wish each show could at least be an hour long.

I'm a little behind, but just listened to the show(s) this week and came on to see what people were thinking. Of course Pete and the team should do what they think is best, but if they are looking for feedback, I'd say I am not a fan of the split segments. I too am having trouble with the flow...I like one big show. The enhanced podcast seems like it might be a nice solution, I remember really liking the few they did previously.

One thought I have is maybe not including the intro and outro music for each clip? To me it seems like a bit of an interruption if I listen to them all at once.

Also want to add that I am not trying to be negative -- I appreciate all of the hard work the team does, I just wanted to offer my feedback as a longtime podcast listener. If this is what is best, I'll adapt...but maybe there is room for further tweaking?

I personally quite like the new format. It's broken up, yes, but it is still the same show. I like how much easier it will be to find things, which has always been hard when going back through old shows. And to me, it seemed longer listening to the shows this week, not sure if it was but my brain thought they lasted longer so that was nice.

I am hoping to listen to the podcasts this weekend while the kids are at ski lessons. My impression was when it was talked about on the podcast before about a new format was that people had strongly suggested that they wanted an easy way to find just certain parts or subjects of a pod cast and this is in response to those beckonings. I also thought that the podcasts would be recorded in the same way but after recording would be separated into topic. So essentionally one just needs to think of the parts as a whole. It is the same pod casts just separated into parts. Like a sandwhich cut into triangles. It is still the same sandwhich, you still make it the same way it is just cut up rather than in one piece.

At any rate I can't imagine the time between research , recording and then production that it takes to make these podcast. There is a lot involved in it all I am sure. I am just glad the team continues to take the time to do them

I really don't see the big deal. If you like to listen to the whole thing at once then just wait until it is all released and listen to it then. You are still getting the exact same show, it's just broke up.

I really don't see the big deal either. Frequently, I have to break up the longer podcasts. I don't always have 1 hr. or more for any podcast, not just Disney podcasts. I think this is a move in the right direction as for the indexing. If I need something longer, I will just move on to another podcast! Or listen to music on my iPod!

Is it safe to say that it doesn't really matter. Either way we're getting the same info, from the same people and it hasn't changed my life at all. Not seeing what all the fuss is about....

Ok I am lost. How many shows a week are there now? One came out on Wednesday, two on thursday, should one come out on Friday? Was the second Thursday show have come out on Friday or has Fridays show been posted but lost on the interweb as they are wont to do? Or are we still waiting for the Friday show and there is a problem with it?

The Wednesday show has been broken up into segments. The first segment, which was Housekeeping and Rapid Fire came out on Wednesday. Then, at first I thought the next part PCC 2.0 Cruise and Fort Wilderness would be together in the next segment that came out on Thursday, but the PCC 2.0 segment was one show and Pete's review of Fort Wilderness segment was another show, so one show Wednesday, 2 shows posted Thursday and then the email show posted today. (Friday) HTH.

Thank you for the Info. The email show is not showing up in Itunes. If someone can tell Pete that something went wrong with the posting that would be great. . I know how to download it direct and have now done so. Just so that those who don't can get it.
