Screamscape is reporting there have been some surveys sent out about movie franchises that people enjoy...and this could lead to a new live show being shown at the stage between Spiderman and Toon Lagoon.

One of the questions was about an Austin Powers themed show. Out of the options, I think that one is a great idea. Sure the raunchy humor would have to be toned down a bit, but there's still a lot of funny bits they could have I think.

Thoughts?

Do you know what the other options were? Austin Powers seems a little in the past, and it was never really that funny anyway :confused3

American Graffiti, American Pie, America’s Got Talent, Animal House, Austin Powers, Fame, Ferris Buellers’ Day Off, Groundhog Day and Revenge of the Nerds

I got this survey. I'm not a fan of American Graffiti, America's Got Talent or Fame, so I told them I would avoid them. The other's I'd be ok with, although my preference would be Austin Powers.

I did the survey also.I think Austin Powers were the best of the choices offered.

Agreed, America's Got Talent would be a ripoff of Disney's American Idol and the others aren't interesting at all (with the exception of American Pie, but really, that's waaaaay to R-rated to try and kiddify).

I love Austin Powers, as do my kids (3 and 8), so I think that has really good potential but I'm not sure how they could work any of them into the theme of IoA.

I thought it would be A show at the Studios to replace the lame Fear Factor show?
Tho they need to do something with that theater at IOA.I have'nt seen anything in there for years. They had A skateboard-rollerblade kinda stunt show last I remember.Very boring.

Well the theater they have never really fit any theme after it first opened, and it's kinda separated from the rest of the park a bit, theming wise.

I'm really surprised American Pie was one of the options, that's definitely NOT something that could work.

I thought Rocky and Bullwinkle was ok as far as being themed. The stunt/rollerblade show just sucked, there is no other word.

I'm surprised at them suggesting American Pie as well.

Yes, that replaced the Rocky and Bullwinkle show. It blew.

I wish they never ditched the X-Men Stunt Show idea... :-\

I recall rumors of a "Wicked" show, but I heard that about Fear Factor stage.

I wouldn't mind Austin Powers, but it would annoy me that it doesn't fit the theme of Toon Lagoon, or even Marvel.. (even tho that area is dead for themeing).

i took that survey last week.

there were quite a few listed to vote on.

i didn't think the austin powers was the best in the group on that survey.

it did give details on how the show would be presented and it would be geared to families.

a G rating for any of the shows that may be developed for the darkside.

well i never liked austin powers..but i loved Ferris Buellers’ Day Off and could watch that movie over and over..that would be awesome if they made a show where a teen skips school and gets into trouble like the movie.. well maybe not the best message for kids..

I didn't get the survey but every movie mentioned, if you mentioned them to kids you would get a blank stare. Can't they come up with something more modern?

I agree the theatres are underutilized. Out of all the times I've taken my family to IOA we never saw a show in either theatre and this wednesday I saw the 8th Voyage of Sinbad for the first time ever. I still haven't seen anything on the other theatre.

Agree that the wasted space is bad.. but Austin Powers? A bit too old IMHO, and not sure if anyone would really enjoy it...
