Hi guys!

Pixar fest is starting in April and we will be there for the beginning of the fest.

Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular is starting April 13th at Disneyland. How does Disney usually do new shows? Do they have dining packages right away or only do that if the show is popular, or once the show is established? There hasn't been any rumors that I can find of dining packages so I ask the pros here how they have done shows in the past when they start.

thanks!

Together Forever is a fireworks show, right? I haven't been keeping up on all the news but I think it is. I don't generally see dining packages for fireworks. I think the VIP area might not be big enough to accommodate them. The last big show debut would have been for the 60th, and at that time there was a new parade as well as new fireworks, but I recall there only being dining packages for the parade.

ETA: It could be they don't do dining packages for fireworks because fireworks are so frequently cancelled due to weather and they don't want to deal with all the angry customers and/or refunds every time they cancel.

Yes, Fireworks and other stuff. Here is copy from disney website:
Beginning April 13, 2018, Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular will light up Disneyland Park like never before with dazzling pyrotechnics, musical themes from the films and, most importantly, the timeless theme of friendship—ever-present in most Pixar stories.

Together Forever will celebrate the everlasting bonds forged by beloved pals. As the show unfolds, you’ll be invited to embark on an emotional journey that starts when unlikely Pixar characters meet, set out on adventures and overcome obstacles together.

Watch in wonder as the story comes to life through projections at iconic park locations: Sleeping Beauty Castle, the water screens of the Rivers of America, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A. The nighttime spectacular will even culminate in a special castle flyover by Buzz Lightyear!

ok maybe it's just a fancy fireworks show then...

lol. Yep, it's a fancy fireworks show. As mentioned in the press release you quoted, there are also projections during the show. As the pp mentioned, historically there have not been dining packages for the fireworks show, and I would not expect there to be any for this one. Disney did experiment with an experience that was called I think The Tomorrowland Lounge or something like that. It was touted as a way to get up and away from the hustle and the bustle of the park by having a spot up high in Tomorrowland on a terrace attached to the Launch Bay (formerly Innoventions) building to look down on the park and to glimpse the fireworks if they happen to run that night. Desserts and non-alcoholic drinks were part of the package, and there were visits from Mickey and Minnie. It got mixed reviews as far as I could tell, and I don't know if it is a current offering or will be one when the fireworks return.

They might do a meal package for the Pixar parade when it moves over to DL but I'm not sure how popular it would be as many have seen (most of) it in the years it ran over in DCA.

I received a pass holder news email telling about "Pixar Fest" that mentions "the return of 2 fan-favorite parades"...and it goes on, also telling about the fireworks. I knew Paint the Night was coming to DCA, but I hadn't heard about what the second parade is.

I believe it's the Pixar Play Parade that ran at DCA several years ago.

Paint the Night is going to DCA and the Pixar Play Parade is coming to Disneyland.

Man, I hope not. Dining packages have already messed up viewing for Fantasmic! and WoC. DL has cashed in enough.

What's the dining options for a parade at DCA? When it was at DL we did Aladdin on the go. I still haven't figured out if I care to see Fantasmic, I saw it once at WDW, so I'm good but my daughter probably doesn't remember it. It was on hiatus the year we had APs, so we did all of the parades and WOC.

The previous DCA parade didn't have dining options. Since Paint the Night is more popular maybe they will now, but maybe it won't be necessary. Time will tell. I've seen evidence that there's going to be a dessert party option, but I don't know if it will be permanent or temporary (if it's the same dessert party that's currently at WoC it might be used for the parade temporarily if the WoC goes down for refurb). It's mostly speculation at this point.
