Just read through a great 10 page thread on all the things that people wanted to see on the new ships. Lots of great and exciting ideas. But the reality is that at only another 5000GT bigger than the Dream class ships, there won't be room to add things unless you take away something else? So thinking of the Dream/Fantasy ships...what would you take away to add all these new exciting things?

For me? I'd eliminate some of the adult only spaces. Combine satellite falls and the quiet cove, and get rid of some of the nightclub spaces. These just are of little use to me when I'm cruising with my family.

Well, on the reverse side of that - how about making the kid's clubs smaller? Or combining them into one or two areas? These are of little use for those of us traveling without kids.

Fair point on the contrary. Personally, once my kids are older, I don't see us on DCL anymore at the cost. On our January Fantasy cruise, SF was largely empty and so were most of the bar areas (most notably O'Gills and Ooh La La), so it seems like that's space that could be re-purposed. The kids clubs were always packed.

I don't think they need as many nightclubs, I also think they can make the kids clubs smaller. I travel with kids on DCL but we also travelled without kids before they were born on the DCL and even honeymooned with them :) We only cruise with Disney and they seem to really know what they are doing, but I do think there are a lot of nightclubs! LOL!

And I want the opposite: more for adult only cruisers. Adults are paying the bills - we should have more for us.

Well, I spend a lot of time in Europa and find those areas to be plenty packed. Trivia? O'Gills was too small to really hold us. The Quest in the Tube? Packed. Skyline after dinner? Packed. I walk by the D-Lounge and rarely see it full. It's all about perspective, isn't it?

I agree that the adult bar/lounges are under used, but I think the space is necessary. Maybe combine a 2 or 3 of the small venues into one medium sized one that would, hopefully, draw more people. I think Oh-la-la and Pink are too specialized and we've never been there. I think a dedicated piano bar on the Dream and Fantasy would be nice. Not the small area in the walk through space that has a piano player, but a dedicated room (small room) is nicer. The Magic & Wonder both have a piano bar (although I agree it could be smaller) and we spend most nights there after the show.

The nightclubs host a slew of ALL AGES activities prior to 9pm. Photo ops. Trivia. Crafts. Yes, they are "nightclubs" after 9pm, but before that it's hardly fair to think of them as only serving that purpose.

I think they need a space for 18-21 age group. My kids love the clubs and enjoy meeting fellow cruisers and counselors and hanging out in a designated space. I know they have access to the adult areas, but it's all so "quiet" and reserved there. I guess they're still loud and playful....maybe it's just my "kids"

I have no use for the spa. That's really about the only space/area I can think of that I would rather see used for a different/better purpose.

There are activities/entertainment that I certainly would like to see eliminated. Number one on that list would definitely be Pirate Night. I (and many, many others apparently) don't care for the pirate night menu in the MDRs (we usually make it our Palo night). Plus, it's just too crowded up there for okay fireworks. Plus, and this especially true for the Dream/Fantasy, I don't like how everything up on deck (pools, Aquaduck, mini-golf, sports deck, etc) has to shut down.

Ooh, a dedicated piano bar! What a great idea! One of my all time favorite DCL moments was listening to Clara Oman on the piano. I also agree that Pink should be reimagined into something else. I love champagne as much as the next person, but those prices are enough to keep me away

Whereas pirate night is one of my favorite things about DCL...

Actually, there was a dedicated piano bar originally designed on the Dream/Fantasy. The problem was - you couldn't find it. It's the Outlook (in the forward funnel). There's only one elevator that goes there, or you can use the staircase that goes by Edge to get there. The space is now used for private functions, and interdenominational services on Sunday.

We like Clara, also. I've read that she's taking some time off right now, and will be on the Magic after Easter. I hope that's true, as we're cruising on the Magic later this spring.

Maybe Pink could be the piano bar?

I like this idea...so what would you get rid of to pay for it?

Shutters. Seems like a huge waste of space and paper. Just add some additional computer terminals to select what pictures you want printed (if any). Even better idea would be some kind of system that allowed you to view your pictures on the TV in your stateroom.

THIS. That's an idea I could 100% get behind. They already have the digital viewing area on the Fantasy.
