Ok so I admit that I am sat here with the kids watching ceebeebies! ;)

A new version of Sesame Street has just come on and I can't believe that the characters all have Irish accents! Not that I have anything against Irish accents but it's just weird to me - I am so used to hearing them with over the top American accents that it's just not the same! :confused3

Anybody else seen it?

BTW - Shelby seems to be loving it! :)

Ive not seen it, i used to hate Sesame Street when i was a kid :rotfl2: the accents really irritated me even then !

I used to hate it too. I just found it boring and it gave me a pain in the back of my skull...........

Robert, however, loved it, so I shall tell him about the new version!

I didn't watch all of the original series ~ Although I loved Big Bird and Ernie.

I was never a big fan of Sesame Street when I was a child, the new version sounds a bit odd.

It was made here in Northern Ireland, the BBC in cohorts with Jim Henson Sesame people and some fund things I can't remember. The kids had posters up in school about it ages ago and they showed it here first. I do admit it was a bit weird hearing these characters' accents but at least they didn't try it with old favourites. There are a huge amount of accents over here in such a small country too. At the least it exposes kids everywhere to the way we talk. Some people wonder if I'm actually talking english:rotfl2:
It must be one of the first kids programmes made here to air over the UK. My kids did like it. Not their favourite.
The thing I don't like about kids TV is the amount of American programmes they bring here and then dub them over with, it seems to me, the same 6 kids voices. Playhouse Disney is quite bad for that!

Thnaks for the info-dd3 loves Sesame Street, will have to find out the times it's on.
I always watched Seame Street-loved it.Especailly Bert+Ernie.x.

didnt really like seaseme street, but I did love Elmo

Elmo rocked lol - I did watch it a little as a child, more with my sisters I think, as there is a 6 year age gap between us.
Cbeebies is always on in our house, I haven't seen it yet, I'll ask DD.

I saw a teeny bit of it today. It reminded me of Play With Me Sesame, but one of the characters on there had a scottish accent
