Hola mi limey amigos.
Breaks over so i have to go to....*gulp* School!:sad1:
Have fun TOT Boy:teacher:

I absolutely agree with you. I'm very much a "bird in the hand" type, so I would go for it, and hope that maybe, in five years, the option still would be there to go kidless.
I am with PD and Dwheatl on this one!

Still not on mine.

I kinda thought so. I hear that tradition started when people had a fruitcake for the top layer. If you're the type who eats fruitcake (as I am), you know it really doesn't change in a year. The booze preserves it. You could use it for a doorstop for a year, then cut it up and eat it.
So really, Danielle, is it the fruit cake or the booze your really like??
omg the year old wedding cake was so gross. we could not even swollow it. lol. the cake i made was yummy. hope everyone had a great easter
Happy Anniversary....I hope it was romantic, despite the yucky cake!

I think I would probably take her and only go for the week. I would let her know that there will be one night that she will be sitting in the room while you and John go out for an amazing dinner!
I would do the same! Make sure you have a nice romantic night out just for the 2 of you.

Um you really need to ask...:rolleyes1

I love fruitcake. Where else can you get vitamins, fiber, and a buzz all at the same time? Oh yeah - the prunerita!

Oh Danielle, Ineed you to come back east this summer!!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Greetings all! I was so far behind but finally got "read" up and can now post. I have missed a lot, since last post was St. Patricks Day!

Congrats on the birthday's, anniversary's & college choice. Go, Jaqueline, and enjoy. Seeing it in/through her late teen eyes may be just as special, esp. since the Christmas will be up.

We will be doing DW late Aug. through early Sept. Hopefully they won't start school here before Labor Day. That would be a big shock! Jeff will be starting middle school this year, so his last go as an elementary kid. They are both very excited & have been helping with the planning. Should be interesting, at least!

The (very) old Ford is finally being let go. I was starting to put more into it than it was worth, even originally! :rotfl: I have gotten a "newer" used on, an Izuzu Rodeo. A 5 speed. Have puttered around in it a bit and really enjoy it. gotta get a few minor things done, like getting the rear gate to open and then put back otgether, but it runs well. I had forgotten how much fun a stick shift is. Or still is for now.

Been having some issues with borderline high blood pressure. Postive thoughts please. Doin't really wnat to go on meds, so trying other things, like losing weight & trying to keep stress out of the equation. That is the hardest for me. Well that and the free Panera bread I pick up 1 -2 times a week. Love that we are on the donatin list and I get first choice some night! Any suggestions on how to make oneself not like sweets so much? tee hee!

Hey Kat if you can find a way to NOT want sweets let me know. Thats my down fall.. So what restaurants are you guys eating at this time? Remember to take a post card stamp with you so you can send me one. :teeth:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:It is a tradition to freeze the top tier of your wedding cake and then take it out of the freezer, thaw it and eat it on your first anniversary.

It usually does not come out well on that anniversary because it gets freezer burn or is not wrapped properly so takes on some of the flavor of other items in the freezer.

Apparently some of our peeps had alcohol or styrofoam cakes!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We were very fortunate our cake was wrapped really well (I didn't wrap it, my husband's grandmother...one of the most wonderful woman ever....took care of that for us) and out cake was absolutely delicious on our anniversary. I don't know anyone else who ever said that about their cake. I have no idea how the tradition started.
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh. That explains a lot....

Sorry I won't be going east this summer. Some of you know, I talked DH into a London/Paris trip with a side trip to DL Paris, so I don't think I can convince him of much more travel than that. You'd be surprised how many people have said, "Why DLP?" Do they know me? Why wouldn't I go?
If anyone wants to see me this summer, you either have to come to CA, or meet me in Paris. Oh, and I do have a conference in Salt Lake City. I'm trying to plan a mini-meet with Utahmama and Spongemommie, if any of you know them.

grrr.cant believe im back to work 2 days in from my spring break.. o well.

Cool Danielle. I knew about European vacation (just don;t get caught in any home movies like in the movie with Cheny Chase!:scared1:) I'm very jealous!

Don't you have a stop in NY or somewhere like that on your way to Europe????

A meet with Wendy and Misty will be sooo much fun. Definitely arrange that if you can and give them each a big hug from me!

We're going directly from S.F. over the North Pole to London. This totally freaks me out. It's going to take a couple of drinks (or maybe something stronger) to relax on that flight.

I'm really hoping the Utah meet works out.

Happy Hump Day Peeps!

Danielle you can just start planning your girls trip For the Food and Wine next Fall.. ;)

Ours was gross...talk about freezer burn....

hey everyone, hope you had a great Easter Weekend -- still pulling in the last day here for us!

Happy belated Anni-- now if we tried to eat our cake well let me tell you wouldn't work! our top layer was STYROFOAM rented i think!! what a cheapie my mom is lol
Happy belated B-day Tot hope it was good

Now i have a question for you to all ponder:
If you were like us and had to perhaps cancel the holiday of your dreams (Disney for your 25th), would you do that and wait till conditions were right (maybe like our 30th) OR take Emily with us and go for a week instead of 2??
They musta fixed the colour thing or the duck has magic wings
I'd take her!!! As everyone else said, just plan for an evening or 2 alone. And who knows...she might get there and feel comfortable going off on her own a little...Disney Magic CAN work wonders!!!

Looks like we are living in Epcot for food most of the time! Still thinking on a Fantasmic dinner, but probably will just go see it this time around.

some of the same places, some new... Le Cellier, Whispering Canyon, Crystal Palace, Princess Breakfast in Norway for Krista for old.

New will be Yachtsman, Chef Mickey's for dinner, Teppan Edo and looking at a few more. Oh yeah...Boma for Jeff.

Today sweets have been mind of eating them. I did have a bit, cause I can't stop cold turkey, but carrots & celery so I can eat good tonight at the potluck at church!

Ok...Now I'm hungry for some Disney food!!!

I'll take a bowl of cheddar soup and a steak from Le cellier, some mickey pasta from Chef Mickey's and a Dole Whip, Please!

Thanks alot, Kat....
