We went to see Marley & Me last night with friends, how come none of the previews mention how totally DEPRESSING that film is?!? SPOILER ALERT---the dog DIES at the end of the movie... poor Meagan was bawling her head off! Then we went for pizza and out to Cold Stone for ice cream, back to our house to play cards and games on their Wii (which they kindly pack up and bring over every time now)...

Va, I sure hope you aren't getting sick, but T definitely has the right idea, time to get the cubs in practice!

I read the book and loved it, but would definitely say it is for adults, but it looks like they are marketing this as a family film.

yes, a family film and a comedy, its really more a drama and not altogether child friendly. Catie wasn't bothered by Marley dying so much but didn't like the rather large amounts of discussion about balls and the language in the first half. But I do think they should warn you before ya take kids to it...it was to me like Bridge to Terabithia in that the advertised it as something it wasn't, ya know?

My new year's resolution this year?? To do my best to get on-line more often and post without too much whining. Hard to do in this household but i will try to find at least one good thing to report everyday! Let's see today's comment??? I had trouble falling (and staying) asleep BUT john let me sleep till 11!! Not bad eh? Oh i will even throw in another one just for good measure, I am wearing a new Mickey sweater

Happy B-day to the ones i have missed sorry gang maybe that will fall under the section of being on line more often eh?

Hard to believe that I have been supporting Emily for close to a year now no wonder i am tired enough to sleep till 11 when given the chance, let's hope this turns a corner. We're praying to find money for visiting Donald still so ticker is staying put until we pass the point of no return <sigh> OH and here is my nice picture to welcome in the 2009

I'm home. We had a blast. DD and I did go swimming, even though it was about 50 degrees outside. There was no danger of running into anyone at the bottom of the water slide, because I had the high beams on the whole way down. Brrrr!
DD spent our last night at the hotel barfing all night, and we had to stop several times on the drive home today for more of that. Brian and I were both a little down when we got home, so we watched August Rush, which I think VA had recommended as an upper. It definitely was. I give it a big thumbs up.
got to go to bed now. I need sleep before back to work tomorrow. Good night.

Jacqueline, glad to see you, and you know you can vent to us anytime! But I am glad you got to sleep in and Mickey sweaters are always good! I am hoping you find the funds for your trip. I am thinking we will probably be another year before we have a chance to go again, probably Dec 2010.

Hi everyone, happy monday ok that is a bit of a oxymoron BUT it does mean we just had a weekend. Emily lets us go to church (1st time in over 4 months) so we at least got to spend one Sunday during advent (even if it was the Epiphany service) at church. We are hoping she will allow us to go to choir and out to church at least every other week. I know why are letting her dictate our activities? Isn't really just makes us wonder about her safety somedays.

We went and saw YES MAN last night. what a hoot. Jim Carey was great and so was his co-star (can't remember her name now) There are a few questionable moments so i not sure i would take a younger child (unless you want to explain why an older woman removes her teeth and then disappears for a bit!) But maybe anyone over the age of say 13? There was a group of preteens beside us (Em insist we sit in the nosebleed seats) and they really enjoyed themselves)

gotta run I hear em up and i want to check my e-mail before we share a meal together.
