I owuldn't mind a change to IllumiNations. We've been seeing thisone for quite a few years now.
As far as a Monsters Inc. attraction...I always thought that doors scene near the end of the movie would make a great ride somehow, if some brilliant Imagineeer could figure it out.
I agree that I wish they'd do something with the 20K space. I loved 20K though...
On a more serious note, If you understood the first thing about DCA's attendence patterns, you'd know that Monster's attendence numbers don't relate to the quality of the attraction, but rather, the lack of quality in the rest of the place combined with a lot of free ticket holders looking for something to do.
True but I think the more important point is that TT is successful. In fact, it is overwhelmed because of a space that is horribly under-sized for something that good, so therefore I think that another attraction on that platform, especially in MK, is a good idea. And not the DCA version
I will defer to you on the Monster's Inc at DCA. I have not seen it, and don't plan to. From everything I have heard it is what you say it is. A success because...well...just about everything else sucks!
The Time Keeper attraction is being internally demolished (confirmed) and boxes were seen around the attraction saying something about "Monsters Inc Demo", possibly meaning that a Monsters Inc attraction could be going into the location.
Here are blueprints from the rumored new Monsters Inc show, which is said to be a Stage Show:
Timekeeper is being replaced with "Monsters Inc: Laugh Floor".
I've heard Laugh Floor is going to be using the Turtle Talk with Crush technology, yet involving Monsters Inc characters.
Not sure how Mike n Sully fit in Tomorrowland, but that's what I was told by a friend.
Illuminations: ROE is (tentatively) supposed to be replaced by/for the 25th, Don Dorsey is writing and designing the Reflections of Earth replacement, with the working title: Sky Dance
Word is... WDW loved DCA's Midway Mania design and... MGM is getting one.
And MGM's is supposed to open before DCA's version, because at MGM it will be built inside the Millionaire building... and at DCA Disney has to build the 'Mania' show building from the ground up, and under California Screamin'.
Construction is rumored to be starting this September as Screamin' is down from Sept - Dec for it's first real refurb. (not counting the accident downtime)
'Mania' is rumored to opening at DCA sometime in Spring '07, along the same time as Subs/Nemo at DL and along with the new Paradise Bay night-time show at DCA.
Come September '06... Paradise Pier is also rumored to be getting some sprucing up.
Whether it be Project: Sparkle (mostly painting) or WDI's Placemaking project (what Hollywood Pictures Backlot around the new Monsters Inc attraction got and the Muppets and Animation facades additions) ... has not yet been confirmed.
But many things are rumored to be happening as the 50th(51st) ends and the fall offseason '06 begins.
The (rumored) concept is an interactive, carnival/midway funhouse-themed, dark ride... based on the Toy Story characters (minus Buzz Lightyear, supposedly).
But even the concept ideas being passed around from board to board, really are only rumors... at this point.
No one I know has seen any Midway Mania concept art and I haven't seen any posts anywhere claiming anyone else (non-Disney) has either...
