Just back from Beach Club. Checked out yesterday. We tried to book the bounceback for any of the remaining weeks in the year. There was very little (and I mean very little) available at any deluxe or DVC property. There was absolutely nothing at any deluxe or DVC resort for either of the first two weeks in December. Oddly, they could give me one of the All Stars on the CFC code which struck me as strange since the flyer in the room indicates CFC is only available for deluxe and DVC resorts.
Rooms were available at rack rate at the deluxes, but not with the CFC code, which -- of course -- means that a previous poster is wrong. Just because a room is available does NOT mean you can have it at the code rate. There is a set number of rooms made available at the code rate and when those are gone, they are gone.
The problem with the bounceback is that plenty of people, us included, book something just so they have something in case they want it, keeping in mind that you have to book before you check out. Most, I'll guess, will end up cancelling -- but those rooms are gone and not available for anyone else.
After trying numerous weeks and checking every deluxe and DVC resort, we were finally able to book Yacht Club for a week in Nov. on CFC, but it's a bad week for us for several reasons so -- much like a majority of those who booked I would wager -- we will likely cancel. Unfortunately, the offer motivates one to book something -- anything -- before you check out, just in case.
I admit to some frustration that an offer was still being made to current guests when, in fact, there are few -- if any -- rooms actually available with the code (although there is certainly availability at rack rate). A bit of a bait and switch, if you ask me.
