I made a reservation for the CR Tower last nite for the beginning of January. The CM I spoke to was surpised to see "MK view" listed as a resort category. She said it was coming up on 2006 ressies. The additional cost was $40 more for rack rate ($25 with a AAA discount.)

Fine with me! I put in our reservation that I wanted a MK view, as high a floor as possible. We arrived at 7:30 am, in a blinding thunderstorm. When the CM told me that our room was ready, I KNEW it would be about the most "undesirable" tower room they had, but I wanted to take it, in case the driving rain kept up all day.

It probably was techinically a room that is never requested...water view, the lowest floor on which there are rooms. But it was so cool! We looked out on the pool and the lake. We saw the electric light parade from our room. Watercraft coming and going. The beach. The sunrise. And the low floor...the monorail was on our floor, right across from us! We were one floor above Chef Mickeys, so every morning and every night we'd peek over and watch Mickey and his friends.

It was a great location. Let others pay extra for the MK (parking lot) view.

I've never had a MK view Tower room but I LOVE the lake view. It's so relaxing.

Sorry to hear they are adding cost for the MK view. $40 is a lot to add to an already costly room. But I guess if you really like the MK view it will be worth it.

I saw this recently on another board. For a guaranteed MK view, I would pay the extra money.
