DANIEL WEBSTER WESTERN BELTWAY (TOLL 429)
OPENS TO TRAFFIC BETWEEN NEW INDEPENDENCE PARKWAY AND US 192, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23
OCOEE, FL (Thursday, December 22, 2005)At 5 p.m., FRIDAY, December 23, the Turnpike will open a five-mile section of Toll 429the Daniel Webster Western Beltwayto traffic between US 192 and Seidel Road, three months ahead of schedule. Concurrently, the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority will open the section between Seidel Road and the New Independence Parkway interchange. On December 16, the Expressway Authority opened the section between New Independence Parkway and CR 535.
Wrapping the project up before the holiday weekend, the newly opened sections of the Western Beltway provide an additional fourteen miles of roadway looping around western Orange County. The Western Beltway provides alternatives to motorists wishing to avoid the Interstate 4 and US 192 tourist corridors, while providing easy access to the Turnpike mainline, Toll 408 (the East/West Expressway), US 27 and CR 545.
The Seidel Road interchange will open to traffic in February, while the Western Way interchange is scheduled to open in April.
Motorists entering the Western Beltway northbound or exiting southbound at US 192 (Exit 6) will pay a one-dollar toll.
The five-mile section of the Western Beltway between US 192 and Interstate 4 in Osceola County will open to traffic on December 7, 2006.
