I'm not sure if there is a thread about this already but a tip that I have from our trip last week is to use the new RFID turnstiles if you are a resort guest. We found that the lines to use them were typically half as short as the normal lines to enter the park. Has anyone else used them with success?

We used them on our trip 12/26 - 12/29. Somehow our 'tickets' were not loaded the first day onto our RFID room keys/DVC cards, but a quick trip to Guest Services got us in the first day ( they simply printed us a 4 day pass at Epcot ... lost time about 2 minutes ), and the Resort Concierge fixed it up quickly when we got back to Saratoga Springs. I'd double check at Resort Check-In just to be sure the passes are loaded on the cards next time.

The lines were much shorter, and quicker. I tended to find them too the right side of most of the park entrances, and we always saw a Cast Member holding a large replica of the card inviting us to use them. At Epcot and Hollywood Studios there was zero wait, and even the MK lines looked far shorter on the 28th.

I wasn't a resort guest on my last trip in December, but I saw the lines. There were only 3 -4 people in each RFID line, when there were more than 20 in the regular lines. At busy times, I would definitely use the new RFID lines on my next trip, when I am staying at a Disney Resort.

If you have a season pass you cannot use the new RFID lines. It was very frustrating when I was there December 19-23. We were staying at Boardwalk, but my annual pass could not be linked with my room key.

That's true! They are going to have to do something for annual pass holders that don't have RFID chips in their tickets. I imagine soon that they will start issuing Annual Pass Holders tickets that do have RFID chips.

We used them last week--yes, we also found that the lines were much shorter, or in some cases nonexistent, despite the CM's standing there with giant signs with pictures of KTTW cards practically begging resort guests to use those lines.

Are you sure that, aftr the RFID system is extended to all resorts, that the lines at the RFID gates won't be long and time consuming?

can someone direct me to where I can learn more about the RFID system?

I can't seam to find anything that talks about it. Sound interesting

I couldn't find anything official from Disney about the RFID entrances but here's an older article from when they started testing them out at Epcot.

If you go to the parks and stay at an on-site hotel then your key to the world card should have an RFID chip inside that will allow you to use the turnstiles. I remember them being on the right side of turnstiles at Epcot, MK, and DHS but I think they were at the far left in AK.
