New Restaurant Coming to MK!

I think people here are pretty uniformly in the camp of "making good use of vacant buildings and replacing closed attractions with new ones is a better use of time and money than figuring out high tech ways to reallocate the shrinking ride capacity due to attraction closures." So this fits squarely within that wheelhouse.

Just a tongue-in-cheek observation my friend. ;) We'll wait until the menu is released for the complaints to start!

All the more reason for more "boy" stuff! I'm sure there are boys who like princesses too, but ours is into pirates over princesses so we're thrilled anytime we hear even a rumor of something more geared towards what a boy might like.

I was a boy who preferred princesses to pirates so I thank you for acknowledging that fact and not stereotyping!

You can set your watch to that one! And if it isn't the menu that causes a stir, it will be the impossibility of getting in to eat there.

Wow! Is this actually an addition that Disney is making that people ACTUALLY LIKE instead of nonstop complaining about it?

It sounds great to me. Either Pirates of Jungle Cruise themed will be awesome and MK really could use more table service places. I can't wait to see the details.

Haha right? No doubt we are all in agreement because didn't actually took the valuable advice of this board of "add don't replace"! I would personally prefer a Jungle Cruise restaurant, but won't complain if it is Pirates themed. If they do go the pirates route, though, I think I'd like to see them change up Tortuga Tavern a bit. I would prefer if they only restaurants in Adventureland would not be themed after the same ride/movie. But, I'm pretty excited no matter what.

I was saying earlier, I hope it's THAT kind of location. Not that I WANT it to be impossible to get in to, but it would be good to have another restaurant as popular as BOG instead of just a place to go because you can't get into BOG.

Ain't gonna happen but I'd love to see a Jungle Book themed Table Service restaurant with an Indian menu. No characters! But just themed to Jungle Book as Pinocchio Village Haus is themed to Pinocchio (I know it's Counter Service) but no characters are present. Jungle Cruise would be my second choice. Not into pirates.

I'm kinda with you, Reddog (that used to be my Sister's favorite beer btw). I mean, it would be great if it was an amazingly cool place that EVERYONE wanted to eat at. It's a pain, but the effort is worth it if the experience is truly special. It might help BOG reservations slack up a bit as well.

I like this idea a lot, but it might fit better in Animal Kingdom. They need more Jungle Book representation in general.

This was posted on another site last month.

In short... imagine a crazy Adventureland themed restaurant staffed by the Jungle Cruise Captains as a way to pay the bills when they are in-between jobs, and to expand their bad comedy into the realm of the culinary arts.

So, kind of a Lite version of the Adventurer's Club? I am so behind anything in that vein!

When they first announced the LTT closure, I was hoping for more accessible restrooms and dining areas, but this is cool, too.

I think they need another TS because the ones they have book up very fast, especially for dinner. They could easily fill another one.

In my opinion, they also need another one because so many people spend a good chunk of their vacation there. We like to hop so we may end up at MK for 4 or 5 nights on an 8 day vacation. Some more options would be awesome! We don't need as many options at DHS or AK because we may only spend 1 evening at each of those.

I like the idea, but I'm worried about Aloha Isle. That verandah ends up as an overflow eating area in the shade when Aloha Isle is busy. I don't want anything to mess with my ability to get Dole Whip:mad: I think they should combine Aloha Isle and Sunshine Terrace over at Sunshine Terrace. That place never looks busy and is plenty big enough to service both pineapple and orange.

I try to be careful not to do that- my grandson turned 3 yesterday and insisted on a Peppa Pig cake with pink banners and the whole works. At the store recently, he insisted on getting Doc McStuffin mittens and a hat- and he got them with no discussion. I think it's terrible to deny little boys things they like because it's "for girls". LOL He's got varied tastes- last year it was a Frozen theme- with Olaf as the main attraction, but had to have the princesses on his cake as well. And as you can guess, I'm the one making the cakes so he got that too. He's just not too interested in meeting any characters that are just "people in costumes" as he puts it. He wants the real thing - like Mickey and Buzz. lol

MK needs better/more food options the same way the other three parks need more attractions.

Hey, girls like pirates just as much as boys do!
I would bet that I would see at least one hundred boys dressed as a pirate before I saw one girl dressed as a pirate at WDW. And about 1000 princesses before seeing a girl pirate. But I bet I never see a boy dressed as a princess.
