I just called disney for another info pack!( I think that makes 3 times in 2 years) I was aware of the increse in the price and minimum points but was also told the expiration was 2057 or 2067, didnt write it down. Nayone know any more details? Im hoping to have enough cash to buy 150 pts in september. Anyone with any info would be great.

AKV (Animal Kingdom Villas) contracts expire Jan 31, 2057. The minimum buy in is now 160 points.

thank you, makes it even better for me, i was hoping to acquire 200 points or so over the next few yeaars, so that makes buying just that much better

i was quoted 15,200 for 160 points, is that the discounted price? breaks down to 95 a point

Just had this conversation last night about the discounts. don't know the final price but Saratoga springs is selling for $94/point and Animal Kingdom is selling for $96/point. HTH

Ithink that price will be in higher in September. I believe it goes up in June to past $100. Someone here will know.

How did the buy-in get to 160? Is that for new members to DVC? I bought an add on of 150 (yeah, I'm a sucker for the tapestry). :rotfl:

i guess thats the new minimum buy in, just what i was told by dvc.
it doesnt really matter to me, my goal is at least 200, maybe 250 if i can talk my wife into that many. (shouldnt be a problem, shes a bigger diney nut than i and im just fine with that) The only problem till now was convincing her that it was worth the money, she had the thought in her head that timeshares were a bad thing and ive finally shown her the way home, lol

It took me several years to convince my husband. Once he got started into timesharing I couldn't get him stopped. We started out with a Marriott and took several wonderful trips that we wouldn't of taken without the timeshare. Than he purchased another and another. But he wouldn't purchase a DVC.
It took me many years to convince him to purchase DVC. He's not a Disney nut like I am. He just gave it to me last Christmas, I was so excited. I now own a little part of that Disney Magic.

The minimum buy in for new members went up to 160 points on March 4th, along with the price increase from $101 to $104. The minimum add-on for existing members is still 25 points, or 50 points if you want Disney financing.

thank you everyone for your input, hope to see you soon.
Will be ther in september, hopefully as a member!@!
