New Resort in Cocoa Beach - Info anyone?

Hi Denise,
Please know that I am not talking bad about this resort for it is pretty and has a lot to offer - I am just disappointed that they have not taken the interest as much as I felt they should have - they could be very busy trying to get it off "the ground" - number of reasons - I just know that if I contacted other hotels such as the Radisson, Doubletree, Hilton, Days Inn, Motel 6 to name a few - they contacted me right away and resolved any questions or problems that needed addressing - anyhow I just left word for Kevin to call me so lets see if he does - will keep everyone posted -
Thanks for everything and lets hope I hear.
As always
Shirley

I didn't think you were Shirley, it's just a shame they didn't follow through. Hopefully you're right and they are just working out the kinks.

Hello there,
I just got off the phone with Kevin - he has been very sick and unable to return my calls - anyhow he is emailing me so that he can go on and read this thread soooooooo if you have questions that need answers or anything else --just post it on here and I am sure they will be more than glad to help --as I have said it is nice and yes they do have a restaurant that looks very nice and I do have a copy of their menu - it seems very reasonable and a good selection of food.
So thanks Kevin for calling --now it is up to you and your staff and you will see that I was not kidding about the impact of this board.
Always

Being from Canada I had to email because their 800 number doesn't work - emailed on Sat. but haven't heard anything yet either. My DH really wants to stay here (first 2 days in May before our Wonder cruise), so we'll see what happens. I can't remember if I saw any other numbers on the resort page - I guess I'll check now and see if I can call today.

In regards to communicating with customers, I emailed several other hotels in the area and they didn't respond either. I have a 7 month old so email is very convenient for me, but my pet peeve is when companies advertise email, but then they don't respond to customer requests. Bad customer service in my opinion!

P.S. Thanks Shirley for your info regarding this resort!

I tried emailing them Saturday but got a response that the message could not be delivered.

Tried again Sunday after checking the email address, same thing happened. Tried again Sunday night....no luck getting through.

I'm also from Canada and from where the 800 number doesn't work. Since I already have a room at Hampton Inn I'm not going to put anymore effort into a hotel that obviously doesn't want my business:mad:

Very frustrating!!

Well I'm not from Canada and I haven't heard back from them either. I sent an email reservation request from their web page the end of last week and still have not heard back. We are already booked in a jacuzzi suite at the Radisson but thought I'd check out this new place. I'm still waiting to hear a rate for end of August for a 1 bedroom......

Hopefully by October they will have some resturants and shopping close by, we will not have a car.
Bev, I actually wouldn't hope for this... it's a decidedly residential neighborhood and the addition of commercial businesses in the immediate vicinity would not be nice.

If you want to be within walking distance of shopping and restaurants, you'd be better off with the Comfort Inn & Suites, the Inn at Cocoa Beach, or the Quality Suites.

I have gone over and looked at the place - it is beautiful and I love the stuff that they have for children to do - the indoor playground, the indoor play room - the pool areas was breathtaking... there is a lot of traffic coming in and out but there is enough room and lights to take care of that problem... right next door to the jetties that has the beach etc... I saw the display of what Ron Jon's will look like when completed, and all I could think of was WOW
Sounds great! And since it's brand new, everything should be in great condition!

Dave needs to come down and check it all out... Dave come down and lets go to Roberto's again ok
Sounds good to me! I enjoyed breaking bread with you there back in November!

the day this thread first popped up,, never heard from them./

Hi All,
I just received a response from an email request. They responded to a whole group of email addresses, so some of you may have received the same message.

The message apologized for the inconvience and delay in responding due to website issues. It seems that most of the information did not get through to them. They asked that you call the 800 number (actually 888 number, 1-888-933-3030) or respond directly to reservations@capecaribe.com.

Should we expect only a few minute drive to fast-food (such as McDonalds) and a grocery store?

The kids are very excited about our upcoming stay in November!

As dave well put - it is a very heavy residental area and no place for large store, restaurants etc - McDonald''s is right accross from the Radisson and the grocery stores are still in Cocoa Beach - someday soon we are getting a Publix right next door to the Holiday Inn Express - they were suppose to have gotten started last year and they haven't even broken ground - thank goodness the emails were answered - I mentioned that to Kevin today that noone had had even one answer to any emails you all have sent - I am still waiting for him to email me, but he has been sick so I do have to give him the benefit of doubt.
Again will keep ya posted/
Dave let me know when you are coming down and we will both go over to the resort and then go break bread - I always enjoy you and the families company.
Take care all and stay warm cause I am freezing here in Florida

ps tho I did have someone tell me our temp is spring to them :teeth:

They finally responded to my rental request, but the price is just too high for us. I asked for April 30 & May 1 (2 night stay) before our cruise for my DH, my infant and myself, studio villa (smallest room) and they quoted me $130.00 plus 10% tax. Even though our Canadian dollar is quite strong for us right now, this is not within our budget since we can stay at one of the other area hotels for less. Granted this is a new resort with a bunch of amenities, but it's still a high rate. I thought that this time of year wouldn't be high season, but I guess for them it must be.

Oh well. Thanks for the info, I'm back to trying to figure out where to stay before our cruise. Maybe others could post their rates so we could do a comparison since their website isn't all together working and I can't find the rates that they had posted the other day.

Tiger:(

I PM'd you yesterday with answers to your questions.

Sandy

Hampton Inn is pretty nice tho anyone that is looking for a low budget motel and that it is close to the beach, Motel 6 is not bad and it is also right in the middle of everything - Dave you need to make a trip back down here buddy so we can go over game plans - with all the constructions that are going on here these days, guess businesses are forgetting who started them on their rise up.
Anyhow if I can help in any of these areas, just drop me a note at snelsonbrown@aol.com
Thanks
Always
Shirley

Since I never heard back from them I decided to give them a call. I was quoted a rate of $190. a night plus tax for a 1 bedroom.

This is a lot more than the Radisson, but they do have that huge pool complex including a lazy river. For now we're going to stick with the Radisson because I think by the time we arrive and check in, it'll be late afternoon so we wouldn't have a real lot of time to enjoy the resort anyway, and I think the pool at the Radisson will be fine if we want to swim that evening.

Ok, after three emails sent to Ron Jon's w/ no response we called Ron Jon's reservations directly.

We are going down for one night prior to our cruise, and staying at the resort April 9th in a studio.

The resort just looks to good to pass up!

We won't need the parking or the shuttle, so this is perfect for us!

dtheboys - If you don't mind me asking, what was your rate? We wanted to stay here as well, but as I posted a few days ago, they quoted us $130.00 plus tax for April 30 and May 1 for the studio (my DH, myself and infant). This was too high for us as we didn't budget that much for our 2 nights in Cocoa Beach, as we are going to be in Disney World the week prior to our cruise. I know that it depends on the season, but I am seeing some inconsistencies with their rates as posted by DISers and compared to the rates on their website. It seems to me that they've raised their prices now that more people have become interested.

Ok guys, just in case you missed my earlier post, mention code 102 from the Feb. issue of the Florida Travel Magazine and you should get 25% off. I made reservations for April and got the discount. It brought my rate down to $142 from $190 for a 1 bedroom!!

Hi all,
I email Kevin today and told him that this thread was still going hot and heavy and he should come by the shop so I could let him read the response to his new Ron Jon's Caribe Resort - maybe someday someone over there will take me serious that this board does have a lot of impact - also I am extra discount tickets for the 25% off if anyone wants them - just email me and let me know.
Will post more as I learn more.
Always
Shirley
