I am renting points from a DVC member for a trip in Feb. 2007. Am I allowed to call MS and confirm my reservation or can this only be done by the DVC owner?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

No, only the member is allowed to interface with member services. Most owners will send you a copy of the confirmation.

The member will need to make all your requests, add the dining plan for you (you'll pay when you check in), get you signed up for ME. You cannot talk to Member Services if you are not a member.

I am also a first time renter. I thought I read somewhere on the boards that about 3 days out from your res that you can call Dis in person to confirm your res. Does anybody know if thats right?? :)

You should be able to contact the resort directly to see if you have the reservation. Remember, all requests are just that. They are not guaranteed.

You can, but the owner retains complete control of their points at all times. It would be pretty stupid (and unlikely) for them to cancel three days out, but renting is about trust.

Thank you to everyone for your answers!
Does the DVC owner also need to purchase/order our park hopper tickets?

Nope, you get those yourself. Check out Mousesavers for deals and, if you have time, sign up for the newsletter and you can get even better specials through that.

Thanks JodyTG.
I already subscribe to mousesavers. It is a great newsletter. I will look for ticket deals when I receive the newsletter on the 15th.
Do you think I should purchase our tickets before the end of the year? It is hard to believe that the prices could go up again!?!

I bought our ticket for our March 2007 trip through the mousesavers newsletter link to undercover tourrist a few weeks ago. At that time they had a few extra dollars off as they were trying clear out this years stock. Also, remember that the ticket prices you see through WDW website do not include tax. The ticket prices at undercover tourist are your true cost, no tax or shipping. You must use the Mousesavers newletter link to undercover tourist to get their best prices.
