New refillable Mugs?

I havent been on this site in ages, but am a annual-bi-annual Disney visitor, just wondering since we've had the same mugs for 2 years now, are there new mugs now? Or are they the same? We have quite a collection of them built up.

As of now, they are the same mugs as last year (maybe the year before as well). However, Disney will begin implementing a RFID based program for their drink system including mugs. It remains to be seen if that means a new mug design.

some blog somewhere did mention that the mug design itself won't change when they go to RFID chipped mugs. That remains to be seen, though.

The current design (characters at poolside) has been in use since February 2011.

I do wish they would change the design when they switch to the chip. Two trips ago we were driving away from the resort and the girls were wistful about not having bought the beach mugs so I stopped and we went in and bought the mugs and went off on our merry way.

Now, two years later I'll have to pay $18 for the same design. Boring. I usually get the mugs but we don't use them often since we would either have to carry them around the parks or run back to the room just to get them/drop them off.

Why, oh why couldn't they have a new design? I have too many of the wintery light blue ones already. Now we'll have five of these. (I didn't buy one for myself but probably will this time since we'll be there 7 nights.

I saw that too. I was hoping that was just a stock photo they had and that it didn't necessarily apply to the Rapid Refill mugs

We would love to see new designs too. I have 16 of the current design. (Will be 24 after out August and nov trips) and 8 of the prior design. Makes for a good conversation when we have company and I open the cabinet to get a cup. I always get the "how many times have you been to WDW?". I reply with not enough.
