We were talking about Wales all day in science today. Our teacher let us watch TV, and it had a poll on something about wales and ireland.

And she said how her dad lived there for like two hundred years or something.

I think the oldest person was about 136... Let alone 200 :p

How could her dad live somewhere for two hundred years?

So... Who wants to learn about infant sexuality? Anyone? Anyone? No? Neither do I... But it's our study for Freud in Psychology.

My nan is in Vegas. So jealous. Even though Vegas isn't apparently all that great and I hate big cities. But it's hot right because our weather sucks.

DON'T READ UNLESS YOU WANT TO LEARN!

Oedipus complex - The conflict between a boy's desire towards his mother and the associated fear that his father will punish this desire by castrating him.

Yeah, that's what we're learning in Psychology. It's associated with the 3rd thing in the psychosexual stages of development. The oral stage (children derive pleasure from their bodies by sucking), the anal stage (children experience control of their bodies by retaining and expelling faeces) and the phallic stage (children become aware of their sexual differences)

The girls' version is called the Electra Complex, where they want to be with their father, because they're jealous of what he has...

Sigmund Freud thought all this up!

Fun :)

4 days from now, i'm gonna read a chapter of KK everyday, until I go to WDW :)

Wow, how interesting. I'm taking a psychology class next semester. I think this stuff is so interesting.

HMMM, so I guess 3 year olds are in the anal stage??? :rotfl:

Actually, yes.

There were 2 more, but I don't have them. It was from about 6-12, and 12-18.

We're learning about how a 5 yr old's phobia of horses developed. It was because of his fear of his dad, and his jealousy of his little sister taking all the attention. He overhears a mother telling a child not to touch the horses because they bite, and he thought it to meant if he touched himself "down there" then a horse will bit it off, so he fears them. This was when there were no cars, so he also got agoraphobia. He said he feared horses that were white, with blinkers and black mouth. Freud took that to look a bit like an old man, or something.

It's all interesting. Disgusting, but interesting.
