1) The buildings and property belong to Disney (now).
2) We currently have a "lease interest" not a property deed.
3) Our lease interests expire in 2042.
4) Full interest for occupancy reverts to Disney.
5) They now are free to rent as resort hotel rooms.
6) There are lots of rumors. mainly by current owners.
7) At this time, these are ONLY rumors (or prayers) by owners
. . . they will sell again
. . . they will offer existing owners a discounted buy-in rate
. . . they will keep as hotel, but offer discounts to past owners
. . . they will let it keep running as a
DVC
. . . they keep it DVC, but with a charge to owners for use
PERSONAL OPINION: Since the property and buildings were completely paid in the initial sale, my guess is they would make them regular hotels. The maintenance and dues kept the property is pristine shape all these years, so they become paid-up resorts. The profit margin would be huge, since there is no mortgage fixed cost and other variable costs are low or only spent as/when the resort is used (taxes, utilities, labor, supplies).
