Forgive me if this has been asked before but I couldn't find it on here;

DW and I are seriously looking at purchasing a 200 point contract at BLT. We'll probably buy while we are there in September.

My question is: Is it worth trying to negotiate with our guide for anything over and above the published incentives? I mean could we say that we're prepared to sign today if they can give us X free points or passes or whatever.

As there's no mention of special deals being struck anywhere I assume the incentives are set in stone?

Thanks all!

The incentives and price are pretty much set in stone. The only thing I was able to really negotiate was that I wanted to split my initial purchase in to a 175 and 50 point contract. I asked if I could do the split and still keep all 225 developer points. They allowed me to do that.

The previous poster is correct - one of the "benefits" of buying from Disney directly is that it's like buying a Saturn - the price on the sticker is the price you pay. (And the incentives are the incentives - same for everyone.) The only things generally up for negotiation are how you split your contract (and the negotiation is typically about incentives, particularly if you split into segments that don't all qualify), or sometimes which incentive you take (usually comes into play when an incentive has just changed).

They're definitely not going to give you free points or passes unless those are published incentives. (But you'll likely get some instant fast pass cards for taking the tour.)

Good luck with your future purchase!

If you want to buy for the promotion you can do so on the phone. There is no guarantee the promotional discounts will be around in Sept.

Thanks icydog, we'll keep an eye on the incentives and if they announce that the current ones are ending we may well jump and get things rolling over the phone.

Historically the incentives offered have been different depending on where you buy from. Buying while on a cruise or from one of the off-site sales locations during a "celebration" will be a better deal then buying from WDW.

No. Truth be told, Disney would probably rather you finance, because they are their own financing arm, so they get you "both ways" if you go that aroute.

If you pay cash for your DVC does that change anything? Specificly Incentives?

I don't believe so. I paid for my entire add on and the incentives were the same as what they would have been had I financed.

I did put everything on my Disney visa , got my reward dollars, and based on they way they are listed on my CC statement, I am getting 6 months interest free on all the charges, not just the initial $2500.00 down payment.

You have more opportunities to negotiate when you buy a resale.
