new pourable frosting

has anyone used this yet? you microwave the frosting and pour it all over the cake. I just made a chocolate cake and when it was done the whole thing looks like a giant frosted donut from dunkin donuts. YUMMMM. The only thing I don't like is how you end up with gobs of frosting on the bottom of the cake around the plate - but I'll live.

That does sound great! I don't like icing in a can but then again I usually don't have the time to make my own. I'll have to look for this!

Before you frost..... take four or five 3 in strips of wax paper and slide them under the bottom edge of the cake so about 2 inches sticks out... after frosting gently pull the wax paper out and your plate is clean...

The frosting concept sounds good.... wonder if it tastes good...

I just saw a cake made with this in Woman's World magazine last night. It was really neat. It was two bundt cakes together and it looked like a pumpkin! They frost the cake on a cake rack so that the icing can drip through and won't clump at the bottom. I might try and make one for Halloween. The kid's will love it!

You can also place the cake on a metal rack then put in on a cookie sheet with sides. That way the left over frosting falls through the rack and onto the cookie sheet and not gooped up at the bottom of the cake.

I didn't know that you could actually use it on a cake outside of the pan!! I thought it was supposed to be for cake that you were going to serve in the baking pan and you could frost it when it was still warm. Now I'm going to have to go out and get some. Cool.
