Hi Everyone...since the original post got off topic a bit....I'm making a new post for listing what AAA rates everyone is able to get (package or room only).

I was able to get a package AAA rate for the Contemporary MK View Room. I originally wanted the Bay View but they were not offerring them. I also got the Deluxe Dining and 7 day tickets....and saved a decent amount. It took some persistance in researching but was able to get it.

Anyhows...love to hear what everyone got!

Happy Planning....

Clearly I don't know have the magic.

AAA website shows 'no availability' anywhere for any 2009 dates I've tried. Can't get AAA rates on Disney site (OK , I knew that). Called Disney reservations and they told me (today, 6-Aug) that rates aren't out yet!

How come no love? :confused3

I posted this on the "other" thread to try to get it back on track:

This is from AAA's on-line brochure for 2008:
Value & Moderate, Value season: 20%; Regular season: 15%; Peak & Summer season: 10%
Deluxe Villas, Value 20%; Regular 15%; Peak 10%
Deluxe & Ft. Wilderness, Value 15%; Regular 10%; Peak 10%
Swan & Dolphin, 35% all year
Ft. Wilderness campsites, Value 20%, Regular 15%, Peak 10%
No discount at all during Holiday weeks 12/19-12/31.

I'd assume that the discounts will be similar for this year; I got 20% off a moderate during Value season.

cmaas, I'd either keep calling Disney to get another CM (I had no problem getting the discount), or call AAA directly. It may be that there are no AAA rates on the rooms/resorts you're looking for; the rooms with the discount are limited.

I posted on the other thread but thought I'd post here too. :)

I just made my reservation a few days ago for Marathon weekend (Jan 9-12, 2009). 3 night, standard room at Pop Century was $235.26 incl tax. This included a AAA discount of 15%. I'm really pleased with the price but hoping for FL res or PH discount of more so I can upgrade to a moderate.

I'm actually trying to figure out the percentage of my AAA discount on my package....I have 6 nights at CR with Tower View Room (no Bay View Rooms qualified for any AAA discount), 7 days MYW basic tickets with deluxe dining for 2 Adults, 1 Teen and 1 Child. The package actually came out $300 less than the same package with a Bay View Room. The total package with trip insurance ($133) is $4,961.35. I can't seem to figure out the price since all the tower rooms seem to be taken on the DW to see a price. Will try and figure it out myself tomorrow lol....my head isn't into numbers right now.

Also....the AAA TA I used also will be looking out for discount codes that come out from Disney and she is able to apply them if they are a better discount.

Love to hear more discounts people got.....

Happy Planning....

Try picking dates within the same season close to your dates on the website to see what the non-discounted rate would be. That's what I did. As far as I can tell, I got 10% off my MK view in the Contemporary for May 2009.

I am all excited. Booked Jan 21-27 at POP last night. We have 2 rooms for 4 adults and 2 kids.I got 15% off preferred rooms so rooms cost $556.56 for 6 nights including tax. Have airline tickets Now hoping Disney does the upgrade to parkhopper they did last year.

They aren't available at the AAA website. Try calling WDW reservations, DU or your local AAA agent. I'm waiting to hear back from our agent.

Thanks for starting a new thread, star2500. That other one was getting off topic.

Oh no problem whatsoever....after I did a post on there...someone made comments...and it went hay wire.....anyways....

I agree with you.....and just wanted to add one more thing regarding AAA....make sure they quote you properly also....if you don't like your local TA AAA....any AAA travel agent can make the reservation for you. Took me a couple times before I really was happy with what I got.

February 17-23 2009
CSR or CRB (most likely going with CSR)
4 people (2 adults, 2 children - 11 and 15
6 days park hoppers

$2381 - that's a 5% discount off the wdw quote and a couple others I've gotten. How come I'm not getting a 10-15% discount? Is it because it's "peak" season???

Should I just book the room only and wait/hope for a code to come out for the tickets - or book the package and still wait for a code?

Just posted a reply to your post on the other board too. Are you figuring out the percentage based on the whole package? It's usually the room portion only that the percent is taken off of. So for example if rooms totaled (just for example) $1000 tickets $500 dining $200....would give a total of $1700. When you get the AAA discount package...and say it's 10% off....it would be 10% off $1000, $100 off (room cost) not the total $1700 which would be $170 off.

LOL sorry if I confused you more....or maybe I made some sense.

January 13-19
Poly GV
2 adults, 1 child, 1 under age 2
6 day park hoppers
Basic DDP

Grand total: $3484

Looks like about a 15% discount. :dance3:

Yep! It is 10% on the room only price. I was factoring in the ticket prices.

What is the best thing to do - just go ahead and book the room only so I have my location and then switch to a package later?

O.k, I just got my quote. It's a room only rate with AAA discount. 3/14-3/20/09 All Star Movies preferred room $864.45 with tax. That comes out to 10% off, which matches the AAA 2008 brochure figure for Peak season. 10% is better than nothing!

Looks like a 10% discount:) Directly from the DW site...quote was $960.50.

Congrats!:thumbsup2

Thanks, star2500. We've never stayed at AS Movies. We let the kids pick the hotel this time. They are very excited.:yay: I'm still trying to talk them into Caribbean Beach Resort, but that would be about $300 more expensive. I think they'd love the Pirate themed rooms!

I've got a room-only AAA that I'm considering converting into a package. Anyone have a good Disney-expert AAA advisor that they'd be willing to share?? (I've read too many threads about careless or clueless agents that I'm not sure I want to risk it without a reference!) PM is fine.

Thanks!

I had posted these rates on the other thread ,hope it helps

Hi snykymom....I got a name of a AAA agent from someone off the DisBoards who also watches out for the codes issued by Disney...so if the code is better she will switch it. If you want the info....just PM. I had touched base with her after my the first AAA agent I contacted just throught the website and the first one didn't give me the option that CR MK View Rooms were offerring the AAA discount and gave me other places as choices and didn't even quote me for what I wanted. When I contacted the other one (name received)...she said no Bay rooms but MK View rooms offer the AAA discount....which came out to less then the Bay room at rack rate so I was happy. She has answered my emails quickly and things I wanted to add....addressed them quickly. So far she's been great.
