New Polynesian Villas and Bungalows Amendment to Declaration

If I am reading this correctly, which I am not very good at these diagrams on a phone.
  • 4 duos studios
  • 10 dedicated studios
  • 4 dedicated 1BRs
  • 4 lockoffs 2BRs (studio + 1BR)
  • 1 dedicated 2BR

In fairness since you're on your phone and I have the benefit of a large screen and printer.... 8-) I count:

4 Duo Studios
11 Dedicated Studios
2 Dedicated 1 BR
5 2BR LOs
1 Dedicated 2BR
23 Total

Thanks for keeping us posted on the declarations.

What percentage of the Island Tower has been declared now?
On August 4, 2025, Disney declared 12 more vacation homes for the timeshare inventory at Island Tower. This latest declaration increases the number of vacation homes that DVC members can book using points from 72 to 84. There are still 138 vacation homes at that have not yet been declared and are still under the control of Disney. The declared inventory accounts for 1,403,596 points, which is 38.9% of Island Tower’s 3,608,934 estimated total points.

(from DVCnews article on Sept Sales)

So if the new declaration is 23, moves it to 107 declared with 115 still to go, so somewhere are 45% maybe a little more.

Help a DVC noob understand how this helps availability. Isn't it the case that the rooms are added to bookable inventory when the points are sold? Or are the rooms bookable immediately upon declaration? If the latter, that would be awesome for current owners (like me!)
Once they are declared, DVC owners can start using them with points.

There is a bit of a caveat. I forget the poster who figured it out by looking at availability. (Somewhere on the boards, there is a post about how to use the browser tools to see how many rooms are available in a particular category).
Disney seems to plan the declarations months in advance. Based on this, Disney allowed these newly declared rooms to be booked on points months ago. Given the size and pace of sales, likely to be another declaration in about 3-4 months.

Wow this seems very fast, do you know if this is the "normal" length of time a resort without extenuating circumstances (ie covid) sells or is this selling faster because of the popularity of the resort?

Size of declaration and sales pace seem to be the main factors.

For example, in May 2025, Riviera's declaration was large. It was for 545,197 points
https://dvcnews.com/wdw-resorts/riv...ion-homes-for-riviera-s-inventory-in-may-2025
Riviera's sales were slowing for a bit. Using @wdrl DVCNews sales data, May-September county data has roughly 250k points.

Flip side, the August PVB was 218,046 points. Since PVB has been averaging ~80k points, that pace means a new declaration every 2-3 months.

Even declarations for the same resort could be different the next time they file a declaration.
