New policy regarding early entry hours...

Just checked my email. Darlene F. from guest services wrote that tickets bought online from Universal studios no longer are eligible for early entry!!!

That well, puts in kink in my plans.

Just wanted to give all of you a heads up!

I do not understand their policies. I could see all other tickets not qualifying, but tickets purchased directly through them you would think should. That is like Disney saying if you stay on site, you do not qualify for early entry. There has been so much confusion on this subject. And tickets bought at the parks, do not qualify either. Oh well, I will still be there at the parks, but it does get frustrating!!!

Okay I'm confused. If tickets purchased at the parks aren't eligible and now tickets purchased online are also not eligible. Which multi-day tickets are eligible for early entry?

After reading on here about confusion with EE I e-mailed Universal.As Cindy I also received an e-mail from Darlene today.The tickets I have bought in the UK don't qualify. But the deatils in the brochure sell them with EE as a feature,surely this should be honoured?

It depends on the brochure. Who did you buy your tickets from in the UK? Is the brochure printed and produced by this ticketseller - in other words, is it a brochure advertising the vacation packages and tickets available from a ticket or tour company? If so, Universal has absolutely no reason to honor such promises made by a 3rd party. In other words, you were told your tickets would include EE by someone who does not work for Universal nor has anything to do with Universal (other than someone who purchases tickets from Universal, then marks them up slightly to make a profit by selling the tickets to others.)

Of course, if the brochure you are speaking of IS a Universal brochure and was printed by Universal - then you're right - EE should be honored (but check the fine print on the brochure first!).

The following people recieve early park admission:

Guest who purchase their tickets from select tour operators including Universal Studios Vacations and AAA, Flex Ticket holders, guest who purchase their tickets from Destination Universal guest service desks and on-site hotel guests.

Unfortunately many Universal employee think that only on-site hotel guest get early park admission.

Bring you flyer with you and should not have a problem. There is a long list of tour operators that have early park admission included and front gate team members may not be familiar with them all.

I bought my through ticketmania and the person on the phone assured me that they could be used for ee.
I don't have a brochure or anything that says it on it.

On the back of my ticket it says:

Adults: Customer New Florida HOL

Child: Guido's Tours A GUIL

so...i would like to know if I'm going to get ee or not. Has anyone gotten there 2 day passes from ticketmania and gotten EE with it? (we are not staying onsite)

I was trying to find an old thread, but I hope some of the gang that has been there recently will answer this as to their findings. We love both of the parks and will continue to go, but it sure would be nice to get a jump ahead of the crowd.

I think you should call Universal directly and see if a live person can confirm the email.

This has been brought up alot. Barry and Robin( in a few past threads that I have chatted on) have mentioned to send an email and take a copy of the email with. I have a copy approx 3 weeks ago from Universal Studios stating that the tickets I purchased through Ticketmania are eligible for ee. As per Barry - take a copy with you. I think they need to set some guidelines and give them to Kelly for his books. This is mass confusion!

Please pardon my ignorance but what kind of early entry is being talked about. The only early entry I am aware of is the former Express system (7 am to 10 am no line). How long is this early entry and when is it available. Again this is a stupid question that I have just missed somewhere. Sorry

We arrived at Universal Studios on SundayJune 3 for early entry with AAA tickets in hand, we get to the gate guy only to be told that AAA is no longer on the ee list so I whip out my handy e-mail from guest services dated May 31 saying that we were, he them informs me that ended on June 1 after a couple of min making my point heard was let in. I think Universal has really screwed this program up so bad that even the people making the calls don't know who can ee.

This whole thing about early entry and fast passes has put a bad taste in my mouth. So I'm not going back anymore this year, however, I am visiting BGT/SWF a few more times, they don't have these problems.

Early entry is on Monday's and Wednesdays at 8am for IOA. The park usually opens at 9am.

I too had multi-day tickets, and then found I would not be allowed in early on a Wednesday. It's only 1 friggen hour, but it's the principal that something was advertised, then taken away.

The parks advertised all these benefits of buying multi-day tickets. Then the hotels come on-line, and the benefits are taken away from multi-day tickets and moved to the hotels. That's what everyone is so POd about, the rules keep changing and the people here have already bought their tickets months in advance. It's so complicated, the people at the gate don't even know the rules.

The Express Ticket system is a joke, the machines sell out by noon, and it's a pain to use the system. So people spent the extra money to stay in the on-site properties, and now they're getting screwed because that system is going to change, only 1 FOTL per ride per day.

They keep changing the rules during the season, that's the problem. They need to wait until the end of the year before messing with the system.

I hope they just do away with Express pass and FOTL, I don't like it. The answer is to build more rides, preferably, some big roller coasters. For 100+ million dollars (price of MIB), they could build a few coasters at IOA.
