New Pocast App. $5.95 I think not. It cost $655.95

The people who will complain about not having an iPhone so not being able to buy the app strikes me as odd....

It is like complaining that you want to buy a lawn mower but you don't have a lawn......

I'm not complaining. I have a Blackberry. And, if AT&T offered good service, I'd have an iphone. I can say that I wish I had an iphone and not be complaining. I don't feel left out. I don't feel like I am being treated unfairly, although I do think that someone should just give me their iphone and I'd be very happy :) Someday, I'll have one.

Oh, Kevin! You got me! I did indeed mean genteel!

Funny thing, when I moved to Maine from New Jersey, many people thought I was Jewish. Because I was from New Jersey? Becasue I was married to someone who Jewish? (truly "was" - I am no longer married to him, and he is now Baptist!) I am an active member of my Methodist church.

I am still hoping Verizon gets the iPhone. We have a much more extensive network than AT&T Mobility. And I might get a discount since I work for Verizon. If we don't, I will compare the costs if I switch to the iPhone. I have data on my phone already, so I don't think the costs will be too different. I will settle for the Project X app on my iPod Touch for the time being.

Since I'm not eligable for an upgrade for my current Cell Phone and I don't have an Ipod touch, the cost of buying an IPhone will be $650 with tax, and then $5.95 for the App.

Oh yea, I forgot about the additional $20 per month 3G network cost and the additional GPS cost.
.

Using that same thought process how much does the admission ticket / pass cost you to go to WDW?

How about a gallon of gas?

A loaf of bread? (You have to drive to the store to buy one or the ingredients to bake one)

A shirt or shoes?

Everything has a cost associated with it does it not?

I guess I'm confused by this thread.

If you want an iphone, you need to do what is necessary to get an iphone It's that simple.

Are there hurdles like price, the monthly bill, coverage areas...sure, but hurdles exist with everything. Jump the hurdles or dont. It's really a persoanl choice.

If you dont want an iphone. Dont get one. Again...it's that simple.

No one will judge you for not having an iphone. We will never know you dont have one unless you tell us. No one needs to know the reason you dont want, need or have an iphone. It's a personal choice and if it's the right choice for you....hurray.

The Dis has made a business decision to offer an iphone app that we think is pretty killer.

If you think this is something useful or fun to you....buy it. It's that simple.

If you dont think it's for you.....or you dont have an iphone for whatever reason. Dont buy it. Again it's that simple

John and I live in a modest house. We have found a house that we love. It's completely out of our price range. For us to buy this house, we would need to sell everything we own and eat ramen noodles for eternity. We would not be able to afford gas to go to the store.

The community in which the house is located has a monthly owner's association meeting.

Do you think I would get a positive reaction if I went to each and every meeting and spoke about feeling left out because other people lived in the community and I didnt? Or discussed all of the reasons why I thought living in that community was a bad idea? Or attended the meetings and explained why I chose not to move to that community?

It's a phone for goodness sake. It's not life support.

If you budget yourself correctly, most people can afford an IPhone. Everyone has extracurricular activities that they spend their disposable income on and it all depends on priorities. People choose how much disposable income they have by the decisions they make with the money they spend on necessities. It just appears that the priority of having an IPhone has moved up the ladder a rung or two since the introduction of the new Podcast App. That's all I was saying. Sorry again Kevin, I have a habit of phrasing things in a way so that they get a reaction, and not overlooked. Mainegal was a little correct with her first reply.

Kevin.

Question.

If you did buy the house and would eat only ramen noodles, could we expect a dining review on the different flavors of ramen noodles? :rotfl2:

Hey, I offered you lamb.... It would go great with ramen. And, there is a cool app on the iphone called isoda. You can kind of drink a soda. You'd be all set.

I'm excited to see the new app. I can play with it on my itouch :)

Correct me if I am wrong...but you can get the dis unplugged podcast app even on your I/touch. I have gotton some REALLY cool video's and read and listened to some cool stuff. I know I can not use it "anywhere" due to internet access. However at cafe's and stuff like thta I can. Plus I down load alot of it onto my touch (cool videos and what not) I can get online and stuff on my current phone. I get on this site all the time. Is it an :worship: I/phone...NO and YES I WILL have one when my plan runs out. I can say...after getting my touch..its like a tease to the real thing!!!!

Hmm...maybe those of us married to Verizon (and assuming Verizon does not get the iPhone, which is a bit less likely as time goes on) can get some love soon if we can convince the DIS Powers to port it to Android with the upcoming Droid phone... :)

"iDon't - but Droid Does"

Heck, if I can get hold of one, I might be persuaded to work on the port...

:rotfl:
and then you can become an iPhone delinquent and use the spraypaint app to amuse yourself.

Read a rumor just the other day that Verizon is testing a 4g iPhone. Droid does look like an interesting phone too. Maybe it will help the Android OS get a bigger user base and provide some needed competition for the iPhone.

Hey.. Love ya Kevin, but speak for yourself!! :lmao:

::yes:: Agreed. I've been known to have my priorities a bit skewed at times, but I'm okay with that. In fact, I bought an iPower so my battery wouldn't run out while I'm using my cool apps. :cool2:

Funny, I didn't know I couldn't live without my iPhone until February when I got it. But now I know. And knowing is half the battle.

I just heard word straight from my 3rd cousins 5th cousin who has a friend that saw Kevin and John driving on I4 and read their lips and they were discussing that there was a price issue for Project X app.

The price was supposed to be listed as $59.99 instead of $5.99.

The correct price of $59.99 for the app will be listed as such when released due to guest demand :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Maybe I should have said the price was supposed to be $599.99 . :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I am cunfused as well!
You either want one or you don't.
DH and I were with different carriers. It was cost effective for us to be with one provider. DH cell phone provider gets reception out of our cottage mine didn't. My contract was up. So I moved to his provider Rogers.
I was able to get an iphone!:yay::yay:
Kevin says" It's a phone for goodness sake. It's not life support."
I have to disagree, it's life support! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

If you're on Rogers make sure you don't use your iPhone's data plan in the US, or when you get your bill you WILL be on life support. A good friend of mine got a $1900 bill. Even text messages are 90 cents each while in the US.

I don't see it mentioned here, but if you have need for a cell phone, you have the option of getting the iPhone 3G for $99 ($49 refurbished) with a 2-year contract with AT&T. But yes, for that price, you're signing into a contract, and I believe all major carriers require a smartphone (or equivelent) data package with those types of phones. You'll pay $30 for unlimited data with AT&T, and I can understand why some people aren't cool with that.

If it makes people feel any better, here in Canada, we pay $30 for 1GB of data transfer (for the moment at least). That sucks.

I just have an iPod touch at the moment, but by the time we go to Disney next, it's likely I'll have an iPhone in order to take advantage of the GPS functionality of the app.

As for people complaining about the price of the app itself (in other threads), that just blows my mind. Blows. My. Mind. It's an amazing deal by any comparison. People spending the money to buy an iPhone and than whining about paying $5.99 for an all-in-one WDW app worth many times that... that's just goofy. :goofy:

I am not sure if this is a joke or not, but I would like to say that the iPhone is the best thing I have ever bought. It is worth every penny.

::yes::

And I would literally buy it again tomorrow, if the one I have now was to somehow meet its demise.

Perhaps if someone lent me (yes, I am joking) their iPhone, I could see what all the fuss is about and I might be convinced.

I will lend you mine! But it is a long way from MS to Maine.

In the meantime, I am taking the philosophy - what I don't know, I won't miss.

This is true...Step away from the iPhone!

hhmmm... how'd that work for you, Nikki?

She tried the iPhone koolaid. Except...I think it is closer to crack!

All this from a person who doesn't even use up the minimum number of yearly minutes in a Tracfone. But then, Kevin says his is ever so much more than a phone. No! Tell me no more... What I don't know I won't miss!

:)

That's it Kathy. Keep pushing me to drink the iPhone Kool-Aid :lmao:

It is crack, I tell you, crack!

It's a phone for goodness sake. It's not life support.

I agree with the previous posters...

I left mine at home today and think I could croak any minute! :thumbsup2
