According to the Virgin Atlantic website our plane going out is currently an Airbus A330-300 & coming back its currently Boeing 747-400. Any idea which of these is the new refurb planes please:goodvibes

Thanks Chmurf:goodvibes; so the one on the way back will have the new entertainment system - the one where you can start & stop movies as you wish? I assume the on on the way out will be the 'old' system - where the films are on a loop?

only 3 of the 7 747s have been refurbed. the plan was for them to be all finished by October... but cant see it somehow.

we fly on the 30 sept from manchester and ours is getting refurbished as it said when we tried logging on to view our seats

No1 will know what plane you got until check-in at the airport wether u check ur seats a few weeks before online or not so can't see them saying about a plane being refurbished. But you've got a better chance going out on a refurb than returning on one from what iv heard.
There is a list of what has been refurbished so far.I think 3 have been done and the 4th is in at moment.

Depends when you are going all the virgin planes should be finished referb by oct we go on 30th an I'm hoping ours is will be so much better

Hi I thought ALL the airbuses was new planes :confused3 We fly out and back on the A300 and was told that these are there NEW PLANES and that they have the new entertainment system on them!!

I was told that they was also upgrading the 747's to the new entertainment etc this yr and that a few had been done that is why we choose the times with the AIRBUS.

Anyone know wether this is correct or not then?

Yep all what you say is correct but if you look on the net it does say that it can change upto check-in.
Our original plane was the new A300 but after a few weeks we checked our seats and it had been changed to the 747.Now we can't even see the seating plan so god knows what we'll get.
But from what iv read and heard theres a better chance getting either a new A300 or a refurb 747 going up than coming back.Oh and all the refurbs where ment to be done by October but that doesn't look very likely at the moment.

Hi yeh they changed our plane at one point too but also changed our time by an hour or so, when i called up they told me that on the 1oclock flight its always the Airbus :confused3

As long as the info on the airbus being the new plane is correct then thats fine,I really really hope they DO NOT change the plane though as My son will flip out.

Im not too bothered aslong as we get there, Its the fact we have a 10yr old with Autism and he has to know what plane it is before we go on it and what seats we will be in etc Not very easy for us when in then changes!! So thats why Im hoping that it does not change :thumbsup2

Ok so I know planes can change up until check in but can someone confirm whether the Airbus has the new entertainment system? Thanks!

I haven't been on one but I'm 99% sure it has the new entertainment system.I can't see why they would fit a brand new plane with old enterti systems.

I know that makes perfect sense but you never know! I wasn't sure how 'new' the airbus was.
