New Pixar movie announced for summer 2021: Luca

The story of Luca, a boy who spends the summer of a lifetime in a seaside town on the Italian Riviera.

Directed by Enrico Casarosa, who also directed the short movie "La Luna", in theaters summer 2021

As an Italian, I'm really really excited about this!!

Ahahah I really doubt there will be a sea monster involved. That sea is basically a big swimming-pool!

I'm looking forward to it. I posted the news in the Movies forum, but we'll get more traction here. It looks to have a bit of a Miyazaki style, which is cool.

I wish they'd named the character something else. All I think of when I hear "Luca" is the Suzanne Vega song about child abuse.

Hopefully theaters will be open again by then, or else it will be another $30 Disney + streaming option
