New pirate makeover experience!

I'm sure most of you have figured this out by now - but The Pirates League is a candy stop at MNSSHP. The doors of the league open at 9 (to give us time to close down from the day) but if you'd like to get a good look at the place without an appointment this is the best time to do it!

My DS has an appointment right before the MNSSHP on Oct 20, at 4 pm. He is 9 and he thinks he wants to do the "cursed pirate" look. My question is, won't the makeup run too much since he will be in it for several hours? We are planning to stay at the party until the end. Should I try to convince him to go for a different look? We will be doing a full package.

Hope to see you there Brenna, it will be only myself and my son for the majority of this trip. We are arriving Saturday morning (10/17) and leaving next Sunday night. My DD15 will only arrive on Wednesday night, so for most part it will be mother/son trip. We are both very excited, we have never done it before! It will be our third MNSSHP though... Some great memories...

I will be there with my hubby and DS3 on his bday! We are all scheduled for appts at 4:30 before MNSSHP. I cannot wait!

If you are not purchasing a pirate costume at the Pirate's league, do you have to wear it there or is there a place that your child can change? I wanted it to be a surprise for my DS, and when we get there take out his costume and get him dressed there...

Here is DS6 at the end of the night - -about 11:55pm. Yes, the make-up smudged, but that was mostly because it rained for about 75 minutes and he refused to wear a hat or poncho.

If you are coming on a regular day we will try to get you into our powder rooms to change into your own costume. However, if you are coming on the day of a Halloween party then there is usually a back up in the rooms so the closest changing room is at the entrance to Adventureland at the Island Supply merchandise shop. There are restrooms near TPL, but we'll suggest the Island Supply option not the restroom; you can always ask about the restrooms if you like!

I'm sorry I missed this question - but it looks like someone answered it better with pictures then I could with words!

Each person is really different. I personally do not sweat much and can wear a cursed look all day (8 hours plus) with no problems. But other who sweat a lot will have a different experience.

I'll be there! I'm actually heading to MNSSHP myself on the 18th and very excited. I'm not sure what my role will be for the day, but I'll be causing havoc somewhere.

Hi everyone! I'm sorry if this question has been asked already, but I wanted to know if anyone has tried this with a 3 year old? I made an appt today for my son and my husband to have Pirate make-overs together on November 13 (I couldn't believe they still had appointments!!)

I kind of grappled with the idea, because I wasn't sure if it would scare our 3 year old. I'm on the fence - it will either scare him or he'll completely love it. DS isn't scared at the barber shop, but he's one of those quiet, inquisitive children that prefers watching the action before jumping right in. That's kind of why I thought if Daddy had it done too, our son would feel a lot more comfortable (in fact, I think he'll get a real kick out of seeing Daddy dressed up like a pirate, and DH doesn't know he's doing it yet....I thought I would save it as a surprise; he'll get a big kick out of it.) I asked DS if he wanted to dress up like a pirate and he said "yes!!" and then we practiced some swashbuckler-talk which he had fun with. But, I also know that he doesn't fully understand what dressing up like a pirate at the Pirate's League entails.

Any success stories or non-success stories from anyone that has tried Pirate's League with a 3 year old?

Also, do you know if they might allow DS and Daddy sit next to each other while having the make-over?

We took DS to this on Sept. 11th; the night of MNSSHP. It was GREAT! Maddox had a great time and we loved it! We got Maddox the $125 package and we love the outift he got! So cute... However, the eye makeup that the CM put of DS made him look like a girl! LOL! DH said he was the "prettiest" pirate there! LOL! Here's a slideshow I made of Maddox's Pirate day!! Hey!! I'm so glad you liked my pics!! Yeaaaaa to your DH wanting the bigger package!!! My DH is the same way! I will tell you, after we got there, DH thought it was great and did'nt have any problem with the package I got because he loved Maddox's costume! Maddox got the Jack Sparrow costume, but if you're going during a cooler part of year, I would go with the Captian Hook outfit! The little burgandy jacket was PRECIOUS! I almost snuck back over to POTC and bought it too! Come to think of it.... we're going back in Dec. and I may just do that! I'm not sure about the extra pics, but I'm sure you could buy more. I really do not see why they could'nt just print you some more out. I hope you and your familly have a wonderful trip!! Thanks! April

All kinds of 3 year olds go through - but if he gets nervous for any reason then you would be able to leave at the start without paying anything!

You can request to sit together, if the league is busy it may mean your wait is a little longer, but they will try to sit them together if you ask!

However, the eye makeup that the CM put of DS made him look like a girl!

Haha - Oh no!! Did the CM let you look at the images beforehand? Looks like you got the smokey eyes and the CMs will do which one you request.

One more question...can you purchase additional pictures and if so, does anyone know the cost for the additional photos?

At the end when you pay you will get a receipt with a photo number on it, which works just like a photopass card. You can go up to exposition hall to buy more images, or you can enter the code on-line when you get home.

Aesome slide show. What did you use to make it? I jsut made my first on the other day with windows movie maker, but it had few options, I like how some of your pics go sidewasy. Super cool!
