New pirate makeover experience!

BTW Thanks, Pirate Brenna, for making me (for at least a few minutes) one of the "coolest mom's on the planet." When I was talking to my daughter about her upcoming Pirate's League appt I "casually" mentioned that "Oh, I know a pirate there, Pirate Brenna..." Her jaw dropped! Now she REALLY can't wait to see if I'm telling the truth!

:rotfl2:

Haha - that's awesome!!!

Does anyone know what type of outfits/costumes there are for adults (men and women) at the Pirate League. I was thinking it would be a good place to stop before MNSSHP

There is only one type of shirt for adults... if you get the captain's package it will come with this shirt and Captain Jack dreadlocks.

It's hard to see, but the man here is wearing the shirt with the hat.

For those of us with small little boys.... Disney Shopping has the glow in the dark jack sparrow boney costume on sale for $9.99 regular $39.50. But they only have XXS and XS.

I picked up one for DS. I am planning to let him get the pirate make-over this Christmas.

Hope this helps someone!!

They also have a XS Elizabeth Swan pirate costume available for $9.99.

Is there a costume available for an adult doing the "Skeleton Pirate?" My son wants to do that package, and I was going to do the same.

Thanks! See you in September!

Thanks for letting me/us know your schedule Pirate Brenna! I booked my son's Pirate League today so hopefully we'll be able to say hello to you during our visit! We're so excited!! :cool1:pirate:

Wow, one of those mentioned meeting Jack himself. My DD would go out of her mind if that really happened!

One of the reviews linked here has a picture of a little boy in a striped bandana with Goofy ears and earring attached to it. My son would love that! Is it part of the package or something that they sell there?

My 6YO grandson went on Monday (29th) and got the full treatment. Loved it to death. Wore the costume/makeup the entire rest of the (hot) day. Precious.

My DH got those same ears a few years ago when we went to a MNSSHP. I didn't see them in any Disney official pictures on Allears so I think the boy must have purchased them separately.

Hey Brenna, Thanks for all the great info! I have been following this thread for sometime and have popped in to read your blog from time to time as well.

I have a few questions that I havent seen asked here.

We are considering going in as a family ( I realize we cant all be done up at one time ) . My boys dont want the face makeup or effects . The still want the experience and costume etc. Is there still going to be much left to the experience if they skip that part?

Also with my daughter and I we would like to take part with the boys but I think my teenager might (maybe) like a costume. I know you guys have a mens adult costume but do you have a womens one ? She is small but to tall for the girls choice and would want something a little more grown up.

And this might sound silly but we wear makeup whenever we go out. Is it ok to show up in our existing makeup ( Its pretty light)? Do they just layer over it? I know its just some light shadow and lipstick .

Whats the biggest size family you have had come in and how do they usually work those things out? Should one of us not sign up so we can keep a eye on the kids in case they get done first or vica versa?

Ok .. one more.. ( Hope I am not getting annoying here ) I think you might have answered this but I cant find it in the thread. If my daughter brought her own costume can she change somewhere there?

Thanks!:goodvibes

I didn't think Adults wer ever allowed to be in costume in the parks except for after 4:00 on MNSSHP days??? Does that rule not exten to the pirate costumes?

Captain Jack does not do Meet n Greets... but he has appeared in the shop from time to time (and people can grab a quick photo). It's completely random so I wouldn't expect it. Since the league is his, he should recognize his new recruits if you visit the shows.

Is that you, the Brenna he mentions in his write up?

Perhaps ;)

As the PP mentioned, that was purchased separate.

I love to meet readers - I'll try to help!

In fact you can!

There is - the name giving, general pirate foolary around the shop, the oath, the merchandise (bandana, tattoo, etc.), and of course the secret room and photograph. Be aware that you will still be charged the full amount, even if there is no makeup applied.

I know you guys have a mens adult costume but do you have a womens one ? She is small but to tall for the girls choice and would want something a little more grown up.

The shirt is designed to be unisex, so it may work if she likes it.

Is it ok to show up in our existing makeup ( Its pretty light)?

Oh yes! We'll paint right over it. If it is too much, we'll have makeup wipes to remove it.

Whats the biggest size family you have had come in and how do they usually work those things out?

We had a group of 12 this morning, and we only have 10 stations. As one member finished up, the next just jumped on the chair. No worries!

Should one of us not sign up so we can keep a eye on the kids in case they get done first or vica versa?

I wouldn't worry too much about this... there are plenty of pirates to watch the wee ones. You'll also have a pretty good view, the room is not that big. The Bos'n will also be there to entertain any pirates waiting for other crew members.

If my daughter brought her own costume can she change somewhere there?

There are restrooms right around the corner... she is more than welcome to change beforehand.

They're not technically costumes, just a shirt and hat, that's how we get away with it.

According to my friend who works at the MK main entrance, this rule was recently changed after many complaints, and adults are now allowed in costume as long as they don't actually claim to be that character and start doing pics and autographs. They aren't advertising this rule change, but I have seen a handful of dressed up adults go through BBB when it was not MNSSHP.
