New Peter Pan

It was a little better this morning. We entered about 10 minutes after rope drop and the wait was "only" 35 minutes, so we rode. Love the changes! Line built up to an hour within a few more minutes though.

I'm glad to see everyone saying they like the additions/changes. In the first couple of days, it seemed like the reviews were more mixed to negative. Do you think that can be chalked up to unreasonable expectations from the rabid fans that have now tempered out?

The Peter Pan ride is totally fabulous probably cause it has some really cool special effects and the flying feeling is spectacular. But its just another dark ride. I honestly have no clue why that ride always has such a long lineup. Even 11pm at night the wait can still be 20+ minutes long. Mind you it is one of my favorites due to the old classic Disney charm with the old wood rails and the wall murals, the old musty smell, and the classic Peter Pan soundtrack.

I don't know if this video has been posted but it talks about a lot of the subtle changes that were added to the ride. I think it probably helps to watch it before riding because it's easy to miss them if you don't know they're there.

sheetz, that was a great video! Thanks!

I really thought the new effects were wonderful. I was very happy that it remained true to the previous PP ride but with enhanced aspects. The only thing I did not care for was the rainbow. It looked very odd to me, like a big piece of that flat rainbow taffy. I think a hologram rainbow would've been cool but I'm just one person. Others may well think the taffy rainbow is awesome :rotfl:

I didn't watch the video and did not notice much difference. We were first in line at RD last week and rode it, but honestly, if I had to wait more than 20-30 minutes to ride it, I would pass. Like a PP mentioned, it's just another dark ride - the only difference being you are riding along a track in the ceiling instead of the floor.

How about in the evening? How is Peter Pan after the fireworks show? Still 45+ minutes?

There is usually a line that starts to form back by the mad hatter shop and Mr Toad after the parade and during the fireworks. So once the firework show is over and they clear the area, you may still wait 30 plus minutes if you are not in that line after the parade and during the fireworks.

Snow White and Pinocchio are much easier to do once that the area is clear.

Thanks! I think we're going to try it at rope drop and then just hope for the best. It's one of my favorites anyway and it was closed when we were there in April.

We're going to attempt at rope drop also. Ridemax has it at 2-3 minute wait at 8:05. That was true in the past. We walked on at rope drop in 2013. But it seems really different now.

DW and I were at DL on the 1st, tried To do PP first thing in the morning at rope drop, line was 70min long already, no way i'll be spending so much of precius morning time in line, we kept checking the line throuh out the day and it never was shorter than 50min, so at about 7pm we decided to do the 60min wait, we liked it, but new effects and all I think I wouldnt wait more than 30min for this ride, even tho it's a Disneyland classic, and arguably the best dark ride in fantasy land (I think that Alice in wonderland gives PP a good run for it's money). So my advice is to do PP on the 2nd or even 3rd day of s 3 day visit. If I Had only one day at DLR I wouldn't think that PP was worth that much of my límited time at the parks.

Just my opinion,
I agree with your comment about Alice in Wonderland! I love the new effects and I would say Alice and PP are about equal now!
