Hi everyone

I’m new to the forum and can’t wait to get reading to help us plan for our 2008 trip! My fiancé and I (although he will be my husband when we go - we’re marrying in October 2007!) are planning our 2nd trip to Disney together for June 08 with my parents. It will be mine and my parent’s 5th or 6th visit - lost track now! I can’t wait to go back and I’m so so excited that my H2B as said yes let’s do it!!!

We’re undecided on accommodation as yet so I wanted to get initial opinions these resorts - quite a variety as you can see!

Pop Century resort - mine and H2B’s choice as we want to keep the costs down so we have more money to spend on toys!
Port Orleans French Quarter - again our choice as we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside in 2004 and thought it was lovely, but we thought French Quarter would be different and ‘not going back to the same place again’.
Animal Kingdom Resort - Mum’s choice - she LOVES Animal Kingdom. I think it’s too expensive for us though 
Coronado Springs - a moderate resort but not one we know much about, but we like the look of it!

We stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort many years ago and really enjoyed that.

Have any of the properties recently been through renovation? I bet after asking you these questions I will find the answers on the forum anyway!
I’m looking forward to finding out hints & tips on where is best to stay in our chosen resort - i.e. near the food courts, bus stops etc.!

What new rides are there that we should look out for considering in 2008 it will have been 4-yrs since our last visit?

Can you tell how excited I am!!!

There are so many themes and choices but when it comes to the unique "wow" factor, throw in close proximity to the MK and lower priced then the monorail loop, its Wilderness Lodge for us. We like the boat ride to the MK and FW, which, in our opinion has the best bang for the bucks buffet on property. Its a deluxe, all under one roof, nicely themed, great dining resort. The pool area is the best , plus the 2 jacuzzi's, old faithful and alittle off the beaten path but access to the monorail by a short boat ride to the CR.

Our 39th trip is in 28 days and the last 3 have been the Lodge, have tried most of the deluxes, AKL too far from the glitz and glitter of the MK and the monorail resorts just too pricey but really great resorts. Y&B, BW are great but closer to EPCOT, we are MK fans and spend more time there because of its extended hours. Wherever you chose you can't go wrong, something for everyones tastes and pocketbook, best bet is send for the free planning DVD and get an eyeful of each resort and do the figures, we spend alot of time at the resort and its ammenities and pool are important to us.

We are a "hard core" Wilderness Lodge couple! Absolutely love the Lodge for all the reasons stated by pepe. Our opinion is that, except for AKL, there is no other lobby when you walk in that can absolutely just take your breath away. It's convenient for transportation by boat and bus (although we've decided that we prefer to rent a car because it is quicker to get resort to resort, or to the parks except MK. We rent at Orlando airport and return right at the car care center in Disney (less expensive than returning to the airport) and take the Magical Express back to the airport. Check out deals on Alamo - it's actually quite reasonable.). Roaring Forks is great for breakfast, and, Whispering Canyon (if you love meat!) is fun. Artist Point is one of our top restaurants, and we always eat there our last night of any stay.

One of our "do not miss" attractions is Soarin' in Epcot - we rode it 4 times when we were there last. Always has long lines so we "work the system" - go there 1st thing when it opens, ride, get a fast pass - and go back!

Best wishes on your upcoming wedding - and Disney trip in 2008!
