Hold on everyone. Here is the payment plan released for the AP:
This plan goes into effect in 2011. So it may not help you now. You must purchase a jar of peanut butter to use the plan. So we see another great Disney Machine merger with Jif, the one choosy moms choose. This offer is only available as written for listeners of the podcast and those who frequent the boards.
Here is how it works:
1. Buy any jar of Jif between now and 3/31/10
2. Eat all of the peanut butter before 4/1/10 or move it to another container.
3. Peal the label off the Jif jar and put it in the dishwasher but on "air dry" settings.
4. Each month place 1/12 of the purchase price of the annual pass in the jar for each member of your traveling party. Keep this jar out of reach of anyone who understands that money buys things.
5. Next year, when you go down for Spring Break, take your jar and purchase your APs.
6. If you enjoy purchasing your APs with monthly payments, continue with a new jar of Jif for next year.
*note you may adjust your dates as needed. These expiration and use dates apply only to guests desiring to travel by April of 2011.
Easy as PIE!
Actually, I understand where Pete (and John and the rest) are coming from. However, if Disney is going to make a bold move to try and make the AP something great, surely they can do better than this. I for one would consider buying a pass for increased advantages tied to it. But the way it stands it doesn't make sense for how I travel. Regardless of how they let me "pay" for it. I maybe see a kiosk at Rent A center in the future where you can get passes!
We'll be down this spring break. My kids will have their Jif jars full of money they've been saving for the trip. They are 5 and 6. If they can do it, so can you!!
Have fun with it,
Rob
