New park tix - $3 a day!? My head is going to explode

I thought that if you stayed anywhere on sight (regardless of AP) you got free parking. I maybe wrong as I am not sure of all the new rules. But I am pretty sure of this...anyone???
If I do do the 10 day and then decide to upgrade to an AP can I do that right at my hotel? Do I have to go to a park to do that? Thanks, that maybe the way to go..........oh no another decision..hee hee.

You will have to go to a theme park or Downtown Disney to change your MYW ticket to an AP. Resorts do not validate APs. If you buy a voucher over the phone, you would have to go to a theme park or Downtown Disney to validate it as well.

You are right. Free parking is available for all AP holders.

Those $3. days are no longer $3. when you add non-expiration with one exception, below.

The 8 day pass cost per day spikes up because non-expiration costs more. If you must add non-expiration to an 8 day or 9 day pass, seriously consider adding the 10'th and 9'th days too. These cost $4. apiece including non-expiration after you bought the 8'th day.

Need 12 theme park days but the MYW only goes up to 10? Would a 10 day Expiring pass and a 7 day (or 10 day) non-expiring pass be suitable? You would have to come back in the future to use up the latter.

12 days (and 11 days) are a problem. But 13 days with hopping make the AP less expensive. Without hopping you can get two 10 day expiring passes for less than one AP.

Last trip Jan 2005, Pop Century
Next trip (tentative) May 2005, off site
AP expires July 2005

We are planning on 6 park days, but buying a 7 day pass because we will be in Florida for more then 6 days and if our other plans fall through because of weather or whatever, then we could always go back to a park. The extra day on our ticket is $6 total for 5 people. If we don't use it, then we are out $6.

We buy 7 day passes and use them for 3 trips. 2 days in the major parks, a day or two at a water park and then go to a non Disney park like Universal or Seaworld. I find this is enough when we're there every year. Some years we will go 3 days. We all get tired of the Disney parks if we go every day in a weeks time. So when we go back in a year, we're ready to see all our favorites and what's new.
I'm hoping the 10 day tix are available next time we need to buy them. Now that is a great deal and we would get 4 trips out of them. :)
