Just wondering how everyone is liking it and how it compares to the Main pool and Grandstand area of SSR?

thanks!

Amy

I thought for famlies with little ones under 6 (especially more than 1) it was more perfect than eve AK Kid. Which was until this one was my best choice for little ones. The whole pool is shallow, you can see nearly the whole thing all over, there is a kiddie area with slides, buckets ect. (fenced off) They had games, and tons of pool chairs. Agree with PP.. no shade.

For those with older kids who are solid swimmers, the High Rock Pool is better.

BLUF: Need to visit once to say you've been there. Nice location if you plan to have a meal from the grill while swimming, but good luck getting a table. We did not feel compelled to travel from the Treehouses to re-visit.

Small pool that felt very crowded to me with a relatively small number of people.

Not a lot of shade, and difficult to find a chair. Finally got a table at the grill for lunch, but had to scramble for it. We gave it up when done eating so others could use it for their meals. (I was surprised to see that most people were being very cooperative in this regard for the tables under the roof, and not camping out there all day.)

Slide is better than High Rock Spring Pool slide, IMHO.

Grill is nice with a good variety of quality items. Like the selection here better than Hurricane Hanna's at Stormalong Bay.

Oh, important point. We were there two months after the pool opened and found out the hard way that the caulking still wasn't completely dry. Don't lean up against the side of the pool where the expansion seam is. I got a big white line all down my back and on my bathing suit. It was a mess to get off.

We just got back from at stay at SSR. We spent our last day at the new pool and loved it. The children's water play area is fantastic. The slide is super fast, a big improvement over the High Rock slide. Having the quick service at the pool was nice and the food was very good....limited, but good.

shade is limited, but there are umbrellas at some of the lounge chairs. Give it time and the trees will fill in nicely.

We were just there last week. Never had an issue finding a chair or shade, lots of room at the tables as well. My DS loved the recreation staff's games every afternoon (from 2 until about 5ish) the play area was also a huge hit with him (5 years old) Definitely smaller than the main pool but it was never very crowded. it was so handy having the refillable mug station and the laundry right there as well.

Can adults go down the sllide or is it for kids only?

Is it a "lay down" slide or a "sit up" slide?

I went on it many times, as did other adults. The top part is enclosed, so you need to start lying on your back. I notice a lot of kids are sitting up by the time they get to the bottom, though.

I notice in the pics there are no umbrellas. But last weekend, all the tables around the quick service have umbrellas and there are more tables too.

I think we were there at the same time. All those tables in front of the grill have umbrellas and there are many umbrellas scattered around the lounge chairs.

Well if you were over at the pool with the big slide, I was one of the few adults that was going down the slide.....over and over.

I plan on going down it too!

This picture was taken on 9/30 from our balcony you can see several umbrellas scattered around the loungers. There were also some over in the kids area.

We were in the Paddock. 5412 I think it was. I took a picture as we were leaving because it was such a great location. We were in a studio but it was a lock off. Really close to the bus stop and the bridge over to the Springs was right there as well
