New Owner Question

We finally put in an offer and it was accepted, now in the right of first refusal period.. Questions mounting.. Here is one. I have tried searching the boards, but can not find the answer.

I have 100 points. Let's say I want to book a room that will cost 210 for the amount of time we want to stay. We could borrow the next years to get up to 200. What are the options on getting the 10 extra points for the stay? When I go into the system to make the reservation at the 11mo window, is it only going to let me book say, 6 nights until I get the extra points, or, do I get to book all 7 nights and then figure it out after that?

Purchase as in buying more points for one time use, or for duration of contract?

Can I rent / borrow points from a friend and have them transferred over to me for use?

Purchase at $22 per point (I think?) for one time use

You can have points transferred to you. Just know that these points retain home resort and use year even after being transferred. Disney will also not get involved over any disputes about transferring of points

The other option would be the three year plan….. Bank 23 points, travel in and use 24 points, borrow 10 points from 25……

This would leave you with 90 points to use in 2025, or bank…

Thank you all.. Right now, this is a hypothetical situation, but helps with planning in the future (know before I try). Having just come back, we will bank this years points and use them in next year, perhaps even borrowing the 2025 points if we need to, as you had stated Robbie. Many options. Thank you...

The question is moot. You'll catch addonitis between now and that 2024 trip (which will seem like decades away), and convince yourself that you don't want to have to borrow those 2025 points (because what if you want to do a bigger trip in 2025 too, or a larger villa, or, or...) and will be back in the hunt to buy more points. Maybe even before you actually book next year's trip.
