New Owner Question: What Can I do with Expiring points prior to 7/31/2012?

Hi All- I just received confirmation that I am now the official owner of 160 points at the VGC, August use year. We plan to make our first reservation at Aulani for late August 2012. The contract came with some points banked from 2010, 160 2011 points (which I guess I will need to call MS and bank before 3/31/2012) and all 160 2012 points. My question for you is, what can I do with the XXX points? Do I let them expire? Can I give them away? I have not called Member Services yet since we just closed escrow as of December 29, 2011. Any one out there with any advice for this newbie?

Since the points have been banked they can't be transferred to another member. You could try to rent them. You would likely need to offer to add a few points from your 2011 UY. I know we just spent 10 points on a studio at OKW before checking in to a 1 BR at BLT last week. So, it is possible to find someone who could use them. Good luck!
