When traveling to WDW do you stay in a hotel you have before or do you throw caution to the wind and try something new???

We were thinking of trying a new hotel the night before we check into Orange Lake but are unsure of where to try...The one budget place we have used beofre and liked or another place that has a special on?

Please tell me your habits.:chat:

I've been to Orlando probably 30 times in the past 4 years and have only stayed at two places twice.

I love variety and have to explain it CONSTANTLY. I just like to try new places, no matter how much I liked the place I stayed at last.

Funny, one night my son and I were driving through the town and he said, "hey Mom, how long do you think it would take for us to try out EVERY hotel in Orlando?"

I don't think I'll live that long! :earseek:

My only criteria is that it HAS to be a 3 star or above. Being a single parent with a child I never try the dives, not worth it. Besides, I prefer staying at a 4 star for a 2 star price! :teeth:

I let someone else choose in that I use Priceline. My first night in Orlando I always stay off property. I really should pick which ones I want because there are so many interesting places but I like using Priceline. I got the Rosen Center for $39 a couple years ago. Last may I got Gaylord Palms for $96. If you are going budget you can use priceline and get two rooms if you need to.

We almost always try new places. We look for the best deal. The place that has a great deal one year might not be the best next time around. I just got back from my 22nd trip. Stayed at a condo at Windsor Palms and it was great. Had never been there before. Starting to plan the next trip for early 2004 and will probably stay somewhere else. Where we stay also depends in part on who travels with us. If it is just the 3 of us its different than if one or both of our mothers join us. Lots of factors help make the choice.

We usually stay at the wyndham on i drive,But after our last stay, this past spring....How do we say ...It was peppie le pew....Keeping it clean for the Kiddies out there;) We have rezzies for the royal pacific...and in this same breath i also am checking into some orlandovillas if the ever get back with me....I really like a great level of service and consistant cleaness in a property...To which we did not get this past spring. So we are looking else where to spend the $$$$.And when we dont stay at the wyndham we usually camp at fortwilderness.

We only have one hard and fast rule, we always stay on property. We enjoy staying in different resorts on most every trip. We look for good deals and always find them. We rented DVC points at the Boardwalk next week for $5.50 per point! We'll be staying there for a full week. During our last trip we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott for $20.03 a night. We have stayed in most (bit not all) of the WDW resorts over the years.

My thoughts exactly!

I've stayed at almost all the Disney properties now, but have recently found the joys of staying off site as well. There is nothing like the convenience of on site, but there really is so much to see in Orlando that sometimes it's nice to venture out a bit.

Some of the off site resorts are absolutely spectacular. Gaylord Palms, Renaissance, JW Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, Peabody...there's a lot out there, and well worth trying.

We also like to try new places on every vacation, not just WDW, but in DC too (we have family in northern VA and visit OFTEN).

Now that I've had my first Priceline experience, I think I will go with the flow from now on (if we don't stay on-site)! We were happy with the hotel and thrilled with the price.

Previously, we have stayed at several different hotels, but I can't even remember which ones (definitely the Hilton Garden Inn and the Safari). We stayed at some dive on International Drive when my husband was taking a board review class for his Physical Therapy exam--wish I could remember the name of it so I'd make sure not to go there again!;)

I do like staying in different places and seeing what different hotels are like. I'd like to find a hotel with a GREAT breakfast restaurant.

97- 2000 Residence inn Canada ave
2001-2002 Doubletree castle I drive
